Chrisean Rock is facing criminal charges and has now been sued for allegedly assaulting James Wright Chanel. As The Shade Room previously reported, the incident reportedly occurred at a Tamar Braxton concert in November 2023.

More Details Regarding The Lawsuit & Charges Against Chrisean Rock
According to the Los Angeles Times, the lawsuit against Chrisean Rock was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday, February 6. The filing asserts that Rock was speaking with Wright Chanel backstage at the concert on November 10, 2023.
Rock was reportedly under the impression that she would perform at the show. However, Wright Chanel believed she was only supposed to participate in a dance performance toward the end.
Rock allegedly became infuriated and punched Wright Chanel “several times” in the face. The 23-year-old was allegedly wearing rings at the time and broke two of his teeth.
“She hit him multiple times in the face for no reason at all. We were surprised that she was able to leave the facility that night,” Kevin Anderson, an attorney for James Wright Chanel, reportedly told the outlet. “She had on rings that were pretty much equivalent to brass knuckles.”
Additionally, the attorney alleges that Tamar Braxton was present when the alleged assault occurred.
From there, Chrisean Rock was escorted from the room. Amid her being removed, she allegedly used a homophobic slur “to describe Wright.” Additionally, Rock threatened to strike Wright Chanel again.
Afterward, Wright Chanel went to the hospital with two broken teeth and cuts on his face.
Furthermore, the Los Angeles Times adds that a criminal case was filed against Chrisean Rock in January concerning the incident. The new mother is reportedly facing charges of assault with a deadly weapon and battery.
The outlet adds that Rock has not responded to a request for comment. In addition, she has yet to publicly address the lawsuit and criminal charges.

A Brief Recap Of Event Surrounding The Alleged Assault
As The Shade Room previously reported, Tamar Braxton embarked on her “Love and War 10-Year Anniversary Tour” in late 2023. In November, the tour made a stop in Los Angeles, California. Then, footage surfaced of Braxton being joined by Rock on stage.
Later that evening, James Wright Chanel took to Instagram Live, saying he was an “innocent bystander” and didn’t know what was “wrong with people.” Then, a second unnamed person in Braxon’s entourage took to Instagram Live to seemingly allege that Rock assaulted Wright Chanel.
In response, Rock called the allegations “false narratives.”

A few days later, Tamar Braxton took to social media to share more details about her concert and proclaim that she “did not want any of this to happen.” In addition, the singer advocated for “Justice for James.”

James Wright Chanel later took to Instagram Live during a visit to the dentist. While streaming, he opened up more about the alleged attack and the extent of the injuries he experienced.
“…This happened to me for no reason. I was attacked for no reason,” he said. “…I am at the dentist right now; I have to get my teeth fixed… And no, I’m not going to show my face — my face is beat. If you guys seen my face, you would be pissed off. My face is… it’s tore up.”
