Porsha Williams is reprising her role on The Real Housewives of Atlanta for the series’ upcoming 16th season.
Following the sudden exit of Kandi Burruss, 47, who announced her departure at the Grammy Awards earlier this month, Porsha, 42, is ready to get back in front of the cameras as she shares her new life with husband Simon Guobadia, 59, with her many fans and followers.
“I’m incredibly thankful for the vision and faith NBCUniversal has put in me to be a larger part of their family,” Porsha said in a statement to Bravo on February 13. “I’m looking forward to being back on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, and showing the world my new world!”
In a press release, the network further explained their new deal with Porsha, noting that it was not limited to her RHOA return, but rather included additional deals for scripted projects.
“Bravo announces that Porsha Williams Guobadia will make her highly anticipated return to The Real Housewives of Atlanta for Season 16. She has also entered into an overall scripted talent deal with NBCUniversal Entertainment. Under the terms of the deal, Williams Guobadia will partner exclusively with NBCUniversal Entertainment for scripted project opportunities across the company’s broadcast and streaming properties. As a fan-favorite, she previously spent nine seasons as part of the hit franchise from Seasons 5 through 13,” they shared.
Throughout her time on RHOA, fans watched as Porsha split from ex-husband Kordell Stewart, 51, struck up a new romance with Dennis McKinley, and welcomed now-four-year-old daughter Pilar Jhene.
Rachel Smith, Executive Vice President of Unscripted Content, Lifestyle and Documentaries, NBCUniversal Entertainment also spoke of Porsha’s return.
“Porsha Williams Guobadia is a multi-hyphenate and we are fortunate to collaborate and tap into her creativity and passion through this partnership. Our audience has supported and admired Porsha as she so authentically, hilariously and vulnerably shared her life over the years and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome her back to the NBCU family,” she shared in a statement.
Around the same time, Porsha surfaced on Instagram, where she shared a clip that said, “Season 16 Lets Gooooo.”
“Who said that? Porsha Williams coming back to the Real Housewives of Atlanta? That’s false. But Porsha Guobadia is in the building. See ya!” she clarified, blowing a kiss to the camera.
Following the sharing of Porsha’s confirmation on Instagram, a number of her followers expressed excitement for the news, including co-star Kenya Moore, 53, who weighed in with a message of her own.
“Come on sweet 16!!!” Kenya exclaimed, along with three fire emojis.
No word yet when filming will begin on the new season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
