As the saying goes, “the goosebumps don’t lie.” If the dance music world hasn’t already been feeling John Summit and Hayla’s weighty collaborative influence, they surely will now.
Nearly one year ago, Summit and Hayla’s “Where You Are” leapt into the collective consciousness of the dance music faithful and remains a future classic in the making. A follow-up effort to the track, which was recently named one of EDM.com’s best songs of 2023, was all but a foregone conclusion, but questions lingered as to whether lightning could truly strike twice.
Arriving just in time for Valentines Day, “Shiver” once again captures the essential essence of human connection. Hayla’s verses weave a narrative of two souls finding solace in one another, united by the rhythm and lost in the moment. Her lyrics are poetic yet accessible and speak to the universal desire to feel understood.
Much like his dance anthems of yesteryear, Summit brings his distinctly infectious production to the table with rolling basslines dovetailed with sweeping, trance-like lead synths. If past is prologue, “Shiver” is an offering that’s poised to take the festival circuit by storm in 2024.
The track marks Summit’s first original single of 2024, a year that will most likely see the meteoric producer release his debut album. You can listen to the new single below and find it on streaming platforms here.
