Justice have released an astonishing music video for “Generator,” a single from their upcoming comeback album, Hyperdrama.
The iconic electronic music duo joined forces with director Léa Ceheivi for the dystopian audiovisual, which comes with a disclaimer on YouTube: “This video may be inappropriate for some users.”
Depicting a sexual “dalliance” between two humanoid robots, the video explores sexuality through a transhumanist lens. It envisions a world where attraction transcends form as its characters tear one another’s skin with their teeth to reveal the mechanics within.
“I think we were excited about the idea of replicating a phenomenon from the 2000s, such as a sextape, but with a twist,” Ceheivi said in a statement. “The rough aesthetic of it, the lack of control. So yes, in our world, AI robots can also have sex, and orgasm – ‘la petite mort,'” says Ceheivi.

“Generator” dropped last month alongside “One Night/All Night,” a collaboration with Tame Impala. Hyperdrama is scheduled to release on April 26th, 2024 via Ed Banger Records/Because Music.
In other Justice news, they recently announced a 2024 tour kicking off in mid-April by virtue of their performance at this year’s Coachella festival, where they’ll debut a new live show. The duo also has a rumored collaboration with The Weeknd in the works.
You can pre-save Hyperdrama digitally and pre-order vinyl copies of the album here.
