Ridley Scott is filling up his dance card. The filmmaker is in talks to direct an untitled movie centering on music group The Bee Gees, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

Scott, who last was in theaters Napoleon, is producing alongside Graham King for GK Films, Stacey Snider, and Michael Pruss for Scott Free. Scott’s Gladiator scribe John Logan will pen the script. Scott is currently in post on Gladiator 2 for Paramount.

The British Austrailian trio The Bee Gees became one of the top selling musical artists of all time, rising to fame in the 1960s and ’70s. Gibb brothers Barry, Robin and Maurice were behind hits such as “How Can You Mend a Broken Heart,” “Too Much Heaven,” “Nights on Broadway” and “Stayin’ Alive.”

Barry Gibb, the only surviving brother, will executive produce the film. Paramount is distributing with Amblin and Sister having the right to co-finance. A number of filmmakers have taken a stab at the project over the years, with Lorene Scafaria boarding in late December 2022 after the exit of John Carney.

The move comes as Paramount releases Bob Marley: One Love into theaters this week. Despite soft reviews, it earned an A CinemaScore from audiences and scored a strong Valentine’s Day gross.

Scott is repped by WME and Gang Tyre.

Deadline first reported the news.
