The 2024 People’s Choice Awards are being handed out Sunday night.
Simu Liu, who is a nominee for his performance as one of the Kens in Barbie, is set to host this year’s People’s Choice Awards, which will air live on Feb. 18 at at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT simultaneously on NBC, Peacock and E! from Santa Monica’s Barker Hangar.
Barbie leads the film nominees with nine mentions, followed by Oppenheimer, with six nods. In the TV categories, Only Murders in the Building leads with seven nods, followed by Ted Lasso, The Morning Show and The Last of Us with six noms apiece.
On the music side, Luke Combs, Nicki Minaj, Morgan Wallen and Taylor Swift are each up for five awards, with Swift nominated for her concert film The Eras Tour, which is up for movie of the year.
Adam Sandler received the People’s Icon Award at the show which was introduced by Jennifer Aniston. When taking the stage, Aniston described Sandler as her “brother from another mother” and one of the “most loyal friends you could ever ever have.”
“Being his friend has been one of the great joys of my life,” Aniston said of Sandler.
Winners are voted on by fans in 45 categories representing movies, television, music and pop culture. For 2024, new categories have been included: male country artist, female country artist, male Latin artist, female Latin artist and concert tour.
During Sunday’s ceremony, a myriad of stars took the stage to present including Jeremy Renner, Joe Manganiello, Kathryn Hahn, Lucy Hale, Megan Fox, Sydney Sweeney and Grammy winner Victoria Monét.
