The Nigerian Star Redefining Global R&B

Rezz has shared a behind-the-scenes look at the laboratory where she conducts her mad science and showed fans how to do it themselves.

Painted all black from top to bottom, her goth-inspired studio shed sits in her backyard and offers a small, private workspace. In true Rezz fashion, the inside is decked out with horror movie trinkets and deep red lighting. If the sound of her latest releases is any indication it’s safe to say the eerie atmosphere has helped her get in the right mindset to produce her upcoming album, CAN YOU SEE ME?.

The rest of the video is dedicated to the album’s titular track, which released last Friday on Rezz’s HypnoVizion imprint. Geared towards music producers rather than the average fan, the video thoroughly breaks down the song’s production and Rezz shares some tips for producers to level up their skills.

“In this video, I put emphasis on the simpler aspects to creating – as there are so many complex videos online,” she wrote in the video’s description. “If I had seen a video like this at the beginning of my journey it would have been very beneficial. My objective w it is for any aspiring producer to check it and hopefully not feel overwhelmed by the idea of creating music.”

Rezz recently released collaborations with Subtronics, fknsyd and Holly as well as her branded “hypno-dildo,” which sold out in just 30 minutes. CAN YOU SEE ME? is scheduled to release on March 14th.
