We’ve got a new full trailer for share with you for Studio Canal’s upcoming Amy Winehouse biopic film Back to Black. The movie stars Marisa Abela as the famed singer-songwriter and it looks like it will be solid and well-made film.

The movie was directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson (Nowhere Boy, Fifty Shades of Grey), and it will explore the life and life and career of Winehouse and her explosive rise to fame with songs such as “Rehab” and “Back to Black.” Winehouse tragically passed away in 2011 at the age of 27.

In the film, “A magnetic voice. Timeless music. A true icon. A celebration of the most iconic – and much missed – homegrown star of the 21st century, Back to Black tells the extraordinary tale of Amy Winehouse. Painting a vivid, vibrant picture of the Camden streets she called home and capturing the struggles of global fame, Back to Black honours Amy’s artistry, wit, and honesty, as well as trying to understand her demons. An unflinching look at the modern celebrity machine and a powerful tribute to a once-in-a-generation talent.

The film’s cast also includes Jack O’Connell, Eddie Marsan, Juliet Cowan, Ansu Kabia, Bronson Webb, and Lesley Manville. Amy Winehouse’s estate signed a deal for this biopic about her life back in 2018.

Studiocanal will debut Back to Black in UK cinemas starting April 12th, 2024, then in US theaters on May 10th.
