Tyler Perry has recently expressed his frustration over the prolonged process of bringing Sister Act 3 to the big screen. Perry, alongside co-producer Whoopi Goldberg, has been eagerly anticipating the opportunity to kick off the project, which was initially announced by Disney in late 2020.

In a conversation with Entertainment Tonight, the actor and filmmaker , 54, revealed his impatience with the slow progress of the film’s development. “I’m a little annoyed with how long this has taken me. It’s taking so long — like, I’ve done four movies since we started talking about this,” Perry shared. Despite his frustration, Perry emphasized his and Goldberg’s unwavering commitment to making the movie a reality.

Reflecting on the challenges of production, Perry acknowledged the complexities of working with a major studio like Disney. “Disney’s a huge, wonderful company, but I really want to get this movie, and Whoopi really wants to get this movie,” Perry explained, underscoring the shared determination to bring Sister Act 3 to fruition.

The idea for the latest sequel to the beloved 1992 film was first discussed by Goldberg, 68, and Perry during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live in November 2018. Perry teased fans with the prospect of a new Sister Act installment featuring Tiffany Haddish alongside Goldberg reprising her iconic role as Deloris, a spirited lounge singer who finds herself seeking refuge in a convent under the guise of a nun in a witness protection program.

As fans eagerly await the revival of the Sister Act franchise, Perry’s candid remarks shed light on the behind-the-scenes challenges and unwavering dedication driving the project forward. With a stellar cast and a compelling storyline in the works, Sister Act 3 promises to deliver a captivating cinematic experience that pays homage to the beloved original while introducing a fresh and exciting chapter in the iconic film series.
