Shortly after the news broke that Bronny James was dropped from ESPN’s 2024 NBA mock draft, his father LeBron James clapped back on X. It wasn’t long after sharing his thoughts that he deleted the tweet, but many had already shared his post and conversations had begun in the comment sections.

Many fans seem to be pointing the finger at LeBron after Bronny was removed from the 2024 mock draft citing the pressure he put on his son for years.

On Monday, it was announced that Bronny, 19, a current freshman at USC, was removed from ESPN’s 2024 NBA mock draft. He’s now projected to be a draft pick in 2025.

LeBron turned to X, formerly known as Twitter, to let his frustration out about the situation.

“Can yall please just let the kid be a kid and enjoy college basketball. The work and results will ultimately do the talking no matter what he decides to do,” he wrote on X. “If y’all don’t know he doesn’t care what a mock draft says, he just WORKS! Earned Not Given!”

He also added a message to others striving for greatness.

“And to all the other kids out there striving to be great just keep your head down, blinders on and keep grinding,” he wrote.

“These Mock Drafts don’t matter one bit! I promise you! Only the WORK MATTERS!! Let’s talk REAL BASKETBALL PEOPLE!”

Fans Had A Lot To Say About James’ Now Deleted Tweet!

Even though LeBron deleted his social media post not long after sharing it, many saved and reshared it.

Bleacher Report was one of the outlets that shared his thoughts and many fans had something to say about it in the comment section.

Many shared their confusion about LeBron‘s tweet and the attitude behind it, blaming him for what’s happened.

“Why Bron acting like he hasn’t been pushing the whole playing with Bronny narrative for a decade no,” one fan wrote. Another added, “Only Bron would publicly hype his son up & then get upset when people are critical.”

Another fan shared, “Good Luck to Bronny as a father I understand having a love and vision for your kid I do that myself however, I think LeBron James has caused this problem and now he’s trying to do what he does best blame and point of finger at others.”

One other person added, “Strange request by Bron; he’s been the only person pushing Bronny to the league this whole time.”

The vibe was the same over on Official NBA Buzz‘s Instagram post.

“Just about two months ago he was saying his son could play for the Lakers. Bron hilarious,” one fan wrote in the comments.

Another added, “I mean LeBron can tweet that, but he is putting pressure on Bronny by saying sh– like ‘Bronny could be in the league right now’ or ‘Bronny could play for us right now’, bron needs to take his advice and just let his son ball.”

Another fan shared, “Bron this is your fault. YOU should’ve been letting Bronny be a kid instead of pushing his greatness. He wasn’t even the best player on his high school team. Now that he doesn’t have you to coddle his steps at SC you wanna take your frustrations out on the people paid to evaluate Bronny’s potential at the next level. Let him stay and develop himself more.”

Bronny is currently a freshman at USC and playing for the Trojans. He’s averaging 5.5 points on 37.1% shooting, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in the 19 games he’s played this season, according to USA Today Sports.

This is Bronny’s first college basketball season, after suffering a cardiac arrest during practice in July 2023.
