Rowan Windham-Burke is speaking out against her mother, Braunwyn Windham-Burke, following the release of what she claims is an article filled with lies.
After the Real Housewives of Orange County alum, 46, spoke to Us Weekly, slamming ex-husband Sean Burke, 57, for his alleged abuse and labeling him a “narcissist,” Rowan took to her Instagram Story, where she shared a statement against Braunwyn, telling her mother that she and her family are “done” with her lies and revealing her grandmother, Deborah Windham, “blocked” her.
“All of this is lies. Every last bit. And it is disgusting. If anyone had my original post please send it to me, I didn’t screenshot what I said in time. My dad is NOT the narcissist. Quite the opposite. Stop with the lies mother. I’m done. We’re ALL done,” Rowan wrote in a message to her fans and followers on February 27, which included a screenshot of a post shared by Braunwyn.
In Braunwyn’s post, the former RHOC cast member, who is currently dating Jennifer Spinner, spoke of her marriage to Sean.
“Thank you [Us Weekly]! This article comes at the end of the hardest [three] years of my life, I’ve kept quiet about so much, but after a late night phone call from my exes girlfriend, where I realized he was continuing the cycle of abuse and manipulation, I knew I couldn’t keep talking around it, to do so would be to allow the cycle of abuse to continue,” she alleged. “I married young, back then I didn’t understand what being married to a narcissist meant, I didn’t have the words to articulate the financial and emotional abuse I suffered, I was put down, called names, and told that my memories weren’t right and would get told lies that made no sense, but wouldn’t question. I was made to feel crazy. It’s taken some intense therapy to understand what this had done to me, and while every part of me wants to keep it to myself, if I can help one person feel less alone , if I can help one person be seen, if I can help people understand what being with a covert narcissist means, then it’s worth it.”
“We break the cycle of abuse by sharing our stories….so here’s mine. I covered for someone, I was lied to for decades , I was made to feel insane…I was left penniless and thought I would never recover…but I have, and I haven’t drank. I see you. I believe you. We aren’t alone,” she added.
After Rowan reacted to her mother’s claims against her father, she returned to her Instagram page to learn that her grandmother had “blocked” her so that her initial comment about her mom’s alleged lies was deleted.
“It looks like my grandma blocked me to erase what I said. But I’ll say it again. I’m done with my mother and grandma spreading lies about my dad online. My dad is amazing. He is my rock, he is my greatest supporter. I only have [one] narcissist parent and it’s my mother,” Rowan declared. “Both my mother and grandma are narcissists. Clinical [narcissistic personality disorder]. My mother [borderline personality disorder] as well. Not my dad. He is an amazing dad and only have ever wanted the best for his kids. Unlike my mother and grandma who can’t think of anyone outside of themselves.”
In one last dig, Rowan took aim at her grandmother’s childish social media antics.
“Really mature, grandma. Trying to silence me again. It won’t work. I’m done with your lies,” she told her.
Braunwyn was featured on The Real Housewives of Orange County from season 14 through season 15.
