On February 27, J.Lo dropped her new documentary on Amazon Prime Video and in it, the singer and actress revealed all of the celebrities that she asked to be in the project, but were unavailable for cameos. Before we share those names, we’ll share the names of those who did appear in the piece; like Ben Affleck, Fat Joe, Sofia Vergara, Keke Palmer, Jenifer Lewis, Post Malone, Trevor Noah, Trevor Jackson, Jane Fonda, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Derek Hough, Kim Petras, and more.
Those listed as “unavailable” included: Lizzo, Taylor Swift, Snoop Dogg, Ariana Grande, Jason Momoa, Jennifer Coolidge, and Vanessa Hudgens. As for T-Swift, she was busy with her ‘Eras‘ world tour while Ariana Grande was filming ‘Wicked‘ over in London.

The songwriter and director and her team also revealed that they wanted SZA and Anthony Ramos to finish rounding out the list of A-listers, but claimed they also passed. J.Lo also said that she wanted Bad Bunny to make an appearance, but it was unclear whether or not she explicitly asked him.
Additionally, Khloé Kardashian was asked to make a cameo in the documentary and was supposed to pop in, but she reportedly pulled out at the last minute. J.Lo reportedly took it as she was just scared to put herself out there/didn’t want to attach herself to the project.

While having a candid talk with her manager Benny Medina, Jennifer Lopez did acknowledge that those who passed up on her documentary cameo might not have been too fond of the project. She explained that because she’s been in the industry for so many decades, she herself knows that people will pass up on projects if they don’t think it’ll propel their career or fit their brand — which is something she admitted to doing herself.
Since exposing the aforementioned celebrities, Lizzo has spoken out and is claiming she would have participated if she received word. Firing back at her being “unavailable” for J.Lo, Lizzo posted a TikTok video claiming no one told her about the offer. She then looked into the camera and told Jennifer Lopez that she loves her.

Despite the rejections, J.Lo told Entertainment Tonight on February 27 that everyone who was in the documentary was perfect. She explained, “They were giving me a list of all these amazing people, and I was like, ‘Yes, I like all of those people, but that’s not what I want.’ My first people were Jenifer Lewis and Jane Fonda, and they were like, ‘Wait, we don’t get it. This is like music. This is young.’ And I was like, ‘No. This is a council of people who I want to be very diverse. I want all different kinds of people.”
She continued, “These are people with all different personality traits from all different walks of life. But they all have something that affected me in some way — their philosophy on life, on love, on the universe, on music. That was the list that I made.”
J.Lo added, “The casting director and the other producers came in and they were like, ‘How about this person? This person’s not available. And they started saying all these people. If you see me sitting there, that’s not what I want. What I want is people who represent a certain thing, who could understand what I’m trying to do here. And that’s what it took, because they needed to trust me, and at the end of the day. I think it was a big leap of faith for some of them.”
