Beneath a massive, glowing full moon, the beach at Miami’s Virginia Key came alive with house music at We Belong Here in late-February.

Shuffling feet and smiling faces grooved throughout the dusty day and into the chilly Florida night, feeding off the energy of Wax Motif, Tchami, Bob Moses and many more. We Belong Here 2024 transformed the Miami beach park into a house music oasis.

Spanning multiple stages, label takeovers by Deep Root Tribe and Lane 8’s This Never Happened mesmerized as fans danced on the sand. DJ sets by Le Youth, Jerro, Moblack, EMBRZ and EDM.com Class of 2024 star Nitefreak captivated us.

Sun-kissed festival-goers shimmered in the setting sunlight as Wax Motif and Tchami performed golden-hour sets on Saturday and Sunday. The sunset performances acted as perfect segways from day to night as a stunning array of visual effects and lasers kicked in. Temperatures began to drop below the eye-popping full moon, which illuminated the dancefloor alongside top-tier production.

The full moon illuminated the dancefloor.

Perhaps the top highlight of the weekend-long festival was Bob Moses’ hypnotic club set. The duo effortlessly fused both live and electronic elements and even featured dancers on stage, who gracefully moved with the wind in the chilly Florida evening.

The captivating performance blended their signature sound with energizing house and techno bangers woven throughout. Meanwhile, electrifying sets by Duke Dumont, Gordo, Apache and Tom & Collins put the cherry on top of each day of the dreamlike festival.

Another highlight of We Belong Here was its onsite food market. The festival partnered with Smorgasburg, an iconic Miami food vendor market that also pops up in Toronto, New York, Washington D.C. and more. From churro ice cream to spicy Korean chicken sandwiches, elote, birria and so much more, the culinary offerings were absolutely delicious.

The vendor village offered a huge variety of festival clothing and accessories as well as wellness vendors and snacks. The village plugged a wide selection of small businesses who represented the festival’s community and showcased its fashion.

All said and done, We Belong Here 2024 acted as the melting point between sultry Miami vibes and the timeless energy of house music—a match made in heaven. Combined with the magic of the full moon shining overhead, the festival was surreal.

“It was exhilarating to be back on Historic Virginia Key Beach for the third year in a row,” said Justin Dauman, the event’s CEO and co-founder. “The growth and progression of the festival while staying true to providing all attendees with spacious dancefloors and enhanced amenities has been an amazing thing. It’s a testament to the hard work and dedication that comes from some many amazing people who collaborate to make the event happen.”

“This kicks off in an epic fashion what will undoubtedly be the biggest year yet for We Belong Here, with many exciting announcements just over the horizon.”
