Olivia Dunne offers candid insights into navigating the intense pressures of competitive gymnastics.

Olivia Dunne Is Reflecting On Her Gymnastics Journey

The NCAA athlete has been dedicated to gymnastics since the tender age of 3, with the sport shaping her entire childhood. Transitioning into elite gymnastics brought heightened pressure and intensity, especially with the collective aspiration of Olympic qualification.

Joining the U.S. national team roster in 2017 was undoubtedly an honor, yet it demanded significant sacrifices, robbing her of typical teenage experiences.

Joining LSU

In subsequent years, Dunne departed from professional competition and opted to embrace a full-ride scholarship at LSU, allowing her to experience college life while continuing to pursue her beloved sport.

Fast forward to today, and at 21 years old, Dunne holds the distinction of being the highest-paid female college athlete nationwide. Although she may not be engaged in international competition, she’s undeniably leaving a significant impact, pioneering opportunities for students aiming to leverage their name, image, and likeness.

Growing Up In Competitive Gymnastics

“Growing up in the sport of gymnastics, you are constantly being judged,” Dunne expressed her thoughts in a poignant and compelling video alongside Vuori Athletics, an activewear brand she has proudly represented as a longstanding ambassador. “Being in the spotlight and having these eyes on you, you feel like you need to be perfect.”

In the clip, a news broadcast voiceover asked, “She has over 15 million followers, but is Livvy Dunne good for women’s sports?”

Continuing to promote the company’s BlissBlend line, Dunne emphasized, “Everyone gets overwhelmed, so being able to have something that brings you to that moment of happiness and that moment of peace and bliss is essential.”

She added, “I always come back to the simple things: connecting with nature and being around the people I love. Perfection isn’t real. But finding moments of bliss can be, I just have to look in the right places.”

Showing Off Her Incredible Flexibility

In the dynamic Instagram video, Dunne displays her gymnastics prowess, seamlessly transitioning between leotard-clad sequences and mat workouts, all while sporting a pale purple crop top and leggings, reaffirming her status as a bona fide gymnast.

As she showcased the two-piece set from Vuori, Dunne waved her arms around to warm up before transitioning into a skintight green tank top and matching shorts. In a close-up shot, she delivered an impressive split and was captured closing her eyes and breathing deeply, fully immersed in her focused training.

Accompanied by choppy footage, including scenes of the New Jersey native swinging on uneven bars in a leotard, Dunne conveyed her message: “Everyone gets overwhelmed, so being able to have something that brings you to that moment of happiness and that moment of peace and bliss, is essential. @vuoriclothing #VuoriPartner.”

‘It Felt Right’

Apart from Vuori, Dunne also serves as the face of various brands, including Nautica, Plantfuel, and American Eagle, and has previously represented the clothing brand Forever 21.

“This is my first exclusive brand deal I’ve ever done, so I was trying to find a brand to work with that is authentic to me and that I would want to introduce to my audience to because they trust me,” the Gymnast told Forbes of her OG partnership.

“I’m super excited about this partnership with Vuori. I can’t wait to introduce it to my audience. Ever since I put on my first Vuori sports bra, it was such quality material, and I knew it’s something that I wanted to introduce to my following because it felt right to me,” she continued.
