Just after production began on Only Murders in the Building Season 4, Eternals star Kumail Nanjiani has joined the cast of the popular Hulu series.
Variety has reported that Nanjiani will play a character who is “integral” to the murder investigation at the heart of the upcoming season. Further details about his role are currently unavailable, though the outlet’s sources note it to be a recurring part.
Nanjiani is the latest in a line of impressive actors to join the murder mystery series, with Eugene Levy, Eva Longoria, and Molly Shannon being the latest newcomers prior to Nanjiani. Iconic actress Meryl Streep was also recently revealed to be reprising her role from the previous season.
“Three strangers share an obsession with true crime and suddenly find themselves wrapped up in one,” reads the series’ synopsis. “When a grisly death occurs inside their exclusive Upper West Side apartment building, the trio suspects murder and employs their precise knowledge of true crime to investigate the truth. Perhaps even more explosive are the lies they tell one another. Soon, the endangered trio comes to realize a killer might be living among them as they race to decipher the mounting clues before it’s too late.”
