Hit-Boy has just shared studio footage of him and Kirk Franklin, but it was Wiz Khalifa who revealed a funny secret about the session.

The producer posted the footage to Instagram on Wednesday (March 6). It showed Franklin, a gospel music legend, playing keys over a drumbeat presumably produced by Hit-Boy.

Hit captioned the video, “me and @kirkfranklin goin in,” later adding, “ghetto gospel.”

But Wiz jumped into the comments as well. “Damn,” he wrote. “Right after we smoked all that weed in there.” He followed it up with a tears of joy emoji.

The producer responded to Wiz with multiple tears of joy emojis of his own, and a puff of smoke.

Check it all out below.

Other musicians with less first-hand experience of the room’s weed content jumped in the comments as well. Ab-Soulpraised the snippet with a church emoji.

Meanwhile, Lecrae wanted some of the results for himself.

“Y’all go ahead and cook something up for the kid,” he wrote. “[O]r we we can do that Hitboy/Crae Ghetto Gospel album.”

Bassist Brady Watt quickly offered to add his playing to the track.

“Lemme throw the bass on that Bro!!!” he commented.

Songwriter and artist Quentin Millerresponded to the video with multiple fire emojis, as did producer BoogzDaBeast.

Hit-Boy has had more on his mind lately than gospel.

One day after posting footage with Franklin, the beatmaker offered his opinion on a new bill that will force streaming services to increase artist payouts, and he made clear he was not impressed by the solution.

The producer took to Instagram on Thursday (March 7) and posted a screenshot featuring news of the bill. The headline of the story said that Apple and Spotify might be forced to pay artist one cent per stream.

Hit-Boy reacted to this news with a caption that showed the raise was less impactful than he would have hoped.

“they saying we fighting for a penny,” he wrote.

Some commenters were quick to break down the economics of such a bill.

One user wrote: “Y’all complaining but this is over a 300% pay raise and raises every indie artist up to a $12.50/album rate.”

Another added: “this a huge improvement tho [crying face] i don’t understand why ppl complaining.”
