Melissa Gorga is dishing on her fallout with Jackie Goldschneider and if Teresa Giudice had any role in their issues.
When season 14 of the Real Housewives of New Jersey premieres next month, fans will see different friendship dynamics emerge among the cast.
Jackie Goldschneider’s friendships with Melissa Gorga and Margaret Josephs took a turn for the worst last year. When Jackie joined RHONJ during season 9 she immediately bonded with Melissa and Margaret. Over the following seasons they formed a close friendship that left them as thick as thieves or so we thought.
Their bond weakened last summer as cameras rolled for season 14 of RHONJ. Oddly enough it also happened to be around the same time Jackie buried the hatchet with Teresa Giudice.
Throughout season 14 of RHONJ, Jackie and the RHONJ OG showed love for each other in interviews and on social media, which shocked many fans. Turns out that it also shocked several members of the RHONJ cast as well.
“All this stuff is in our past, and we both acknowledge that we’ve been through it,” Jackie said in a September interview with Us Weekly about her budding friendship with Teresa. “We know that we have and we’ve both not been very nice to each other, and it’s OK. It’s OK. We’re through it.”
While many fans were excited to see Jackie and Teresa mend fences once and for all, others wondered how their new found friendship affected Teresa’s sister-in-law, Melissa Gorga.
When asked if her relationship with Teresa caused a rift with Melissa, The Weight of Beautiful author squashed the speculation while chatting with InTouch Weekly in December 2023.
“Nothing happened with Melissa,” Jackie said before acknowledging her fall out with Margaret. “So I don’t know if Melissa just jumped on what was happening with me and Margaret and made it hers. But I have no problem with Melissa, I never had an argument with Melissa. So I’m officially saying that I have no issue with Melissa.”
The Envy boutique owner recently addressed her friendship status with Jackie, confirming that they have grown distant over the last several months.
However, Melissa Gorga insists the disconnect has “nothing to do with” Teresa.
“I think we drifted apart of little bit, but it had nothing to do with anything other than Jackie just had a change of heart on a bunch of different things and feelings,” Melissa told Access Hollywood at the 2024 People’s Choice Awards in February. “Jackie and I aren’t completely not speaking, but we’re definitely not where we were.”
As for where she stands with Teresa, the 44-year-old told the outlet they “do no communicate at all.”
Last month, Melissa Gorga told Entertainment Tonight that she and Teresa “don’t even look at each other.” Despite calling the situation “unfortunate,” Melissa acknowledged it was for the best.
“It is the new normal,” she explained. “I think it just is what it is. I always say it’s unfortunate. I’ll never be, like, happy about that. But we’re all living, and we’re happy, and sometimes things just need to take its course. Right now that’s definitely how it is.”
She echoed similar sentiments at BravoCon 2023, admitting that her season 14 dynamic with the RHONJ OG is “very different from last season.”
“I think it’s different because there’s not a lot of communication. So, it’s different and I think better, honestly,” she said in November 2023. “We’re at a place of peace. I think everyone needs a minute, everyone needs a break and there’s just a period on it right now.”
