NBA YoungBoy’s son with Yaya Mayweather seems to have taken after his maternal grandfather when it comes to the sweet science.
On Tuesday (March 12), the rapper’s baby mother shared a clip on her Instagram Stories in which the 3-year-old child could be seen sparring with his grandfather, boxing legend Floyd Mayweather.
In the video, he wore Spiderman-themed gloves while throwing punches at Mayweather, who kept hyping him up with each strike.
Over the footage, Yaya wrote: “and if you were wondering if my baby still has it he does.”

Floyd Mayweather recently shed light on his relationship with NBA YoungBoy, emphasizing their close bond. During an appearance on The Pivot Podcast, the 46-year-old was asked how he feels about his grandchild being “more popular” than him.
“Well, that’s the ultimate goal!” the former boxer replied. “The ultimate goal is to always put your loved ones, your family members, in a position to grow and that’s what it’s about.
“Me and NBA YoungBoy speak on a regular, speak on the daily. I’m very happy for his career, proud of him. And eventually, he’s gonna grow like anybody that’s young.”
He added: “When I was young, I visualized and seen things a certain way. But as you get older, you look at things totally different.”
When probed for more details on the “dynamic” of their relationship, Mayweather said: “We talk about investments and just growth. Buying land.”
NBA YoungBoy and Yaya Mayweather’s relationship started in late 2018, but faced challenges along the way. In 2020, Yaya announced her pregnancy, welcoming their son later that year.

Despite the joy of becoming parents, they went through a rough patch, with the rapper taking a direct shot at her in an unreleased track titled “Carry On.” On the song, he claimed Yaya was preventing him from seeing his son.
In 2022, drama ensued when she received a six-year probation sentence for stabbing YoungBoy’s ex-girlfriend Lapattra Lashai Jacobs.
The incident occurred during a confrontation at YB’s residence on April 4, 2020, where Mayweather allegedly attacked Jacobs with two knives, during which she claimed to be YoungBoy’s fiancée.
Yaya later pleaded guilty to aggravated assault.
