Playboi Carti appeared to suffer an injury as the result of a machete in the music video for his new song.
Continuing the rollout for his long-awaited third album, the Atlanta native shared his new single “Ketamine” via his Opium label’s Instagram page on Tuesday (March 12).
In the song’s accompanying video, Carti can be seen with a gun in his hand while raging in a dingy room alongside a man playing the guitar.
At one point in the clip, the rapper seemingly jumps into a machete that’s hanging from the ceiling and recoils in pain after it catches him in the arm.
“You n-ggas don’t love me, your bitch wanna fuck me/ My t-shirt on, so I won’t get ugly/ She fuckin’ with a dime, I’m fuckin’ with a bomb/ They think I’m Osama, woah, she think I’m off somethin’,” he raps on the song.

This isn’t the first time that Playboi Carti has been around dangerous weapons of late.
In January, the 27-year-old shared bizarre photos on Instagram showing him wielding a chainsaw inside a strip club.
The first post was a fuzzy collage of him inside the strip club with the chainsaw, with purple-lit images showing dancers and cash next to his cutting tool.
The second post contained better quality shots with the caption: “CHAINSAW N CLUB IS CRAZY CHAT,” featuring Carti in a fur coat with his power tool as he recorded women on stage with a handheld camera.
As for his upcoming album, which is tentatively called I AM MUSIC, Playboi Carti described it as “mind-blowing” during a recent appearance on Adin Ross’ livestream.
“My best,” he said of the project. “My very best — it’s actually insane.”
“Ketamine” is the fifth preview of the album to come out in recent months following the Kanye West-produced “2024,” “H00DBYAIR,” BACKR00MS” featuring Travis Scott and “EVILJ0RDAN.”
