‘Baywatch’ Alum Nicole Eggert Shaves Her Head Amid Cancer Battle

Nicole Eggert recently took to social media to show her bravery amid her battle with a “very rare” form of breast cancer. Eggert filmed herself shaving off her hair and was joined by one of her daughters, who stepped in to finish the job.

The former model previously revealed that she was diagnosed with stage 2 cribriform carcinoma after thinking she was going through menopause. She blamed her inability to discern the cancer earlier on the breast implant she had for “Baywatch.”

The “Baywatch” alum took to Instagram on Thursday to share footage of the vulnerable moment with fans. She could be seen shaving her hair as the Beastie Boys’ song “Fight for Your Right” played in the background.

The 52-year-old actress smiled at the camera as she began the job in her living room before picking up a pair of hair clippers. She then began shaving her hair off before the video transitioned into a sped-up recording of the process.

Eggert got some form of help for the task as one of her daughters, Keegan, 12, walked into the frame to assist her in removing the hair at the back of her head before Eggert took over with the clippers again.

“Maybe healing involves not so much changing ourselves but allowing ourselves to be who we are – Madeleine Eames,” she captioned the emotional footage.

In the comment section of Eggert’s post, she received a flood of supportive comments from her friends and fans.

One person wrote, “Your beauty never was about your hair for me. Much love, healing powers.”

Another said, “Sending you so much love. You are a boss, and I know you’ve got this. I’m with you [100%], and together, we are going to erase breast cancer. You are saving lives by sharing your journey! No more normalizing this epidemic.”

“Charmed” star Alyssa Milano chimed in with kind words, remarking: “Grace. You have the most grace. It’s inspiring, and I appreciate you.”

A fourth individual wrote, “Beautiful! You got this. So many of us are on the other side and are doing great! You will there as well!!

In a recent conversation with People magazine, the former “Charles in Charge” star opened up about her battle with cancer, disclosing that she was diagnosed with stage 2 cribriform carcinoma breast cancer in early December 2023.

She noted that at first she thought she was going through menopause after gaining 25lbs in three months and having “terrible pain” in her left breast, only to discover a lump during self-examination of her endowments.

“It really was throbbing and hurting,” she told the news outlet. “I immediately went to my general practitioner and she told me I had to immediately go get it looked at. But the problem was I just couldn’t get an appointment. Everything was booked. So I had to wait until the end of November to get it done.”

She was subsequently diagnosed with cancer after undergoing a discovery mammogram and three biopsies.

Elsewhere in her chat with the news outlet, she disclosed that her “biggest fear” is not being there for her children, daughters Keegan, 12, and Dilyn, 25. The actress, whose father battled skin cancer and mother battled colon cancer, shared that she has a young daughter to whom she was “the only caregiver.”

“[Dilyn’s] an adult, but I have a 12-year-old at home where I’m the only caregiver. I have no family. I have nothing,” she said. “It immediately made me realize, there’s just no succumbing to this. This is something I have to get through. This is something that I have to beat. She needs me more than anything and anybody.”

After sharing her diagnosis, Eggert revealed that doctors subsequently found more cancer in her lymph nodes.

“The self-exams, I’m telling you, I kick myself [for not doing them frequently],” she told Inside Edition. “That’s the one thing I should have been doing.”

Eggert will need surgery to remove the cancer and shared that at the time, she was waiting for her oncologist to determine when chemotherapy and radiation would start, per People. She also shared that she didn’t know if the cancer had spread to other parts of her body.

“I can definitely feel it,” she said of the lump in her breast. “It’s there. It needs to be taken out. So it’s just a matter of do I have to do treatment before the surgery or can they perform the surgery and then I do the treatment after.”

“I have panics where I’m like, just get this out of me,” she added. “You sit there and it’s in you and you’re like, every second that passes and it’s inside of me. It’s growing, and you’re just like, you just want it out.”

The actress also shared her reservations about the cause of the cancer, blaming it all on the breast implants she got when she was 18 to look better on screen for “Baywatch.”

“If I didn’t have them and I had my smaller, natural breasts, I am sure I would have felt it much sooner,” she said.
