There is a lot to unpack in Christine Quinn‘s unexpected marital issues as her husband, Christian Richard, is currently behind bars for a domestic violence incident.
Things went south in the “Selling Sunset” alum’s life on Tuesday afternoon when authorities and medical personnel rushed to the couple’s L.A residence.
Now, Quinn has been issued a protective order against Dumontet, making one wonder if the breakup season is about to claim its next victim.
Christine Quinn’s Husband Arrested For Assault With A Deadly Weapon
According to law enforcement sources, Quinn was given an emergency protective order against her husband — an arrangement she reportedly accepted and will enjoy its benefits for the next seven days.
The protection order comes at the heels of Dumontet’s arrest, which captured him being hauled away by cops barefoot while wearing nothing but a white bathrobe.
He was taken to jail and booked for assault with a deadly weapon over what allegedly transpired inside his home.
Authorities were alerted of a domestic violence incident on Tuesday, with sources telling TMZ there was a verbal argument between Quinn and Dumontet. In her recollection to authorities, the reality TV star accused her husband of throwing a bag with glass in it at her.
The Couple’s Son Was Injured In The Incident
While Quinn avoided getting injured by her husband’s attack, the duo’s 2-year-old son wasn’t as lucky. The bag Dumontet allegedly threw missed his wife and struck the little boy, also named Christian.
Insiders noted 911 was called after their son’s injury, with an ambulance joining authorities at the scene. Christian was reportedly treated on the spot; however, first responders thought it would be best if he went to the hospital.
The little boy was then transported to the hospital via ambulance, with sources noting that Quinn joined him. As for the perpetrator, Dumontet is still behind bars on $30,000 bail at the time of this report.
Is There Trouble In Paradise?
The domestic violence incident was shocking for many reasons, as Quinn and Dumontet seemingly appeared to be a loving couple.
Their romance made little waves on “Selling Sunset” as the reality TV star’s beau was mainly behind the scenes, but their 2019 wedding was documented on the show.
While Quinn is a famous TV personality, her beau is from a tech background and considers himself an entrepreneur. Despite coming from two different worlds, there has been little to no drama between the pair on TV; however, the recent incident says otherwise.
It remains to be seen if this domestic violence case will turn into a full-blown divorce or if the couple will get through this challenging phase as a united front. To date, neither Quinn nor Dumontet have addressed the situation.
Inside The Couple’s Relationship
The Netflix alum met her husband through a mutual friend, who introduced the pair when Dumontet needed a real estate agent. “[My friend was] like, ‘Also, he’s looking for a house.’ And I was like: ‘double bonus,’” Quinn recalled in a 2020 interview, adding:
“Him and I had an amazing steak dinner and got to know each other, and we just hit it off right away. He’s everything that I ever wanted.”
The RealOpen founder raved about all the things she liked about Dumontet, noting they had different tastes that complemented each other.
Less than a year after hitting things off, the couple tied the knot in December 2019 and welcomed their son, Christian, in May 2021.
Christine Quinn Dropped ‘Wild’ Accusations About Her Time On ‘Selling Sunset’
A year before her husband’s arrest, Quinn dropped bombshell allegations about her experience on Netflix’s “Selling Sunset” series. She was a prominent member of the reality TV show before leaving after five seasons.
Quinn compared her time on the popular series to “Big Brother,” noting “everyone’s like bangin’ the boss.” She implied that her career wasn’t as successful as it should have been because she didn’t participate in the alleged trend. In her words:
“It’s wild. That’s why I was so s—y at real estate. Because I never f—d my boss.”
Quinn also claimed that her former co-star Chrishell Stause’s career underwent a significant shift after she began a relationship with Jason Oppenheim, the co-founder of Oppenheim Group.
The reality TV star explained: “The difference is that she got preferential treatment when it came to filming the show and having listings on the show, which is more important than real life.”
