Lisa Vanderpump admits she wasn’t surprised by Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright’s bombshell breakup.
The Vanderpump Rules boss tells E! News that she believes Jax and Brittany’s split was a long time coming!
“Everybody predicted [they’d split] when they got married,” Lisa Vanderpump said during an interview on Monday. “They said, ‘Oh this won’t last long,’ but I kind of never liked to draw conclusions.”
Lisa Vanderpump theorizes that Jax’s long history of cheating, especially on Brittany, may have played a role in their recent separation.
“I don’t know what the reason was — but I imagine it was probably something to do with Jax’s bad behavior,” she continued.
“I’m not sure, but the indicator of future behavior is normally past behavior.”
Jax and Brittany have denied that cheating played a role in their separation. According to the reality TV couple they were fighting a lot and didn’t want to expose their son to that behavior so Brittany decided to move out of their marital home in late January.
Brittany Cartwright announced her and Jax’s separation on the February 29 episode of their podcast, When Reality Hits with Jax and Brittany.
“Yes, marriages in general are very hard, and I’ve had a particularly rough year this past year,” the Kentucky native said in the episode.
“Jax and I are taking time apart, and I made the decision to move into another home to take some space for the sake of my mental health.”
The 35-year-old didn’t reveal what led to the split, noting that she “won’t get into too many details because this is still very hard to talk about.”
“I’m taking things one day at a time,” she added. “I don’t know what the future holds, but right now, my focus is on being the best mom to Cruz.”
Since then Brittany has critized Jax for “not really trying” to make their marriage work and fix the issues.
“I’ve asked him for a while to do certain things and nothing has come from that,” she bluntly told TMZ earlier this month.
Brittany and Jax’s marital issues are set to play out during season one of The Valley. The series recently resumed filming amid Jax and Brittany separation. Cameras were recently spotted filming Brittany move out of her and Jax’s marital home.
The Vanderpump Rules alums got engaged in June 2018, and the couple said ‘I do’ a little more than a year later in 2019.
They welcomed their son, Cruz, in April 2021.
