Mauricio Umansky is opening up about Kyle Richards’ claim that their split is because she lost trust in him. Get all the details!
During the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 13 finale, Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky addressed their separation after 29 years of marriage.
While discussing their separation and how difficult it has been for their family, the RHOBH OG confessed that she “lost trust” in Mauricio.
“I’ve come to realize that, you know, there’s a big chance that we’re not gonna end up together,” Kyle Richards said in her RHOBH confessional.
“There were things that happened that made me lose my trust and I wasn’t able to recover from…. I just want to be at peace wherever I’m at because I haven’t really had that.”
Then during part three of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 13 reunion, Kyle Richards made it clear that the “real reason” behind her split from Mauricio is “nobody’s f—king business.”
“With any marriage, there’s issues that you have. They come up. You get busy, you’ve got kids,” Kyle explained. “Some of the issues never went away, they were never worked on. Something, like I said in my interview, happened where I did lose my trust.”
She continued: “I care about my family first and I tried. I really did try. So then, when I couldn’t, the kind of things — I don’t want to say putting up with — just became more apparent to me, I guess. I guess I couldn’t do that anymore, and I finally had a breaking point.”
However, Kyle did admit that the infidelity rumors which have plagued her marriage for well over a decade did cause her to lose trust in her husband.
“Did those rumors over the years cause you to chip away at your trust for him?” reunion host Andy Cohen asked to which Kyle replied, “Yes, and they made me feel insecure.”
She added: “[Mauricio] would say, ‘We can’t care. We know the truth.’ Of course, there’s always that little voice in my head, what if this is true. People would say these things all the time.”
Now, Mauricio Umansky is addressing Kyle Richards’ claim that she “lost trust” in him throughout their nearly 30 year marriage.
According to the 53-year-old real estate mogul, he’s unaware of what could have caused Kyle to lose trust in him.
“I don’t know what that is,” Mauricio Umansky told Entertainment Tonight. “All I can tell you is that at the end of the day we were married for 29 years, we met when we were kids… I think we’ve been open and honest and I think people need to quit looking for what I always say, ‘Tits on an ant.’”
He also addressed criticism that his and Kyle’s separation is being detailed on Buying Beverly Hills instead of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
“That’s not fair, that’s not fair. The Housewives is a completely different dynamic. I’m working with these three girls all day long. I spend so much time and so many hours with them. So not only am I working with them but I’m also seeing them at home and so the conversations that are happening are totally different,” Mauricio explained.
The Agency founder continued, “The timing was just different. Particularly in our situation, we were in the middle of rolling when all of the stuff happened with Kyle and I and the news broke and the discussions we were having, Housewives really wasn’t. So not super fair for people to say that about the Housewives in my opinion.”
In September 2023, Kyle and Mauricio confirmed their separation after months of speculation. The two admitted that they are “free” to date other people.
The ex-RHOBH couple wed in 1996. They share daughters Alexia, 27, Sophia, 23, and Portia, 15. Mauricio is also stepfather to Kyle’s daughter Farrah Aldjufrie, 34, from her first marriage to Guraish Aldjufrie.
