Mia Thornton looked back on the awkward chat she had with Gordon Thornton on the finale episode of The Real Housewives of Potomac while appearing on Watch What Happens Live on Sunday night.
In addition to discussing her current relationship with her boyfriend, Incognito, explaining her inheritance, and offering an update on where she stands with on-again, off-again bestie Jacqueline Blake, Mia, 39, threw some shade at her soon-to-be-ex-husband, spoke of their co-parenting dynamic, and more.
On the March 24 episode of WWHL, after host Andy Cohen, 55, asked Mia how she expected her chat with Gordon on the finale to go, she replied, “I expected Gordon to do exactly what Gordon did. He needs a wig and a skirt. He’s the next housewife. For sure.”
As for Gordon’s suggestion that Incognito broke up their marriage, Mia denied any such thing.
“Even if Inc wasn’t in the picture, Gordon and I were still on the road of separation,” she explained.
Mia also clarified the timeline of her affair.
After being asked why she wanted a life with Gordon if she was having an affair during their engagement, Mia stated, “I didn’t have the affair till after. It was after and there was some things that happened that I realized that I just didn’t know if I knew who I’d marry.”
While Mia applauded her and Gordon’s co-parenting skills for their kids, she said that despite feeling that her ex is a great father and a great guy, she was not willing to reconcile.
“Co-parenting is going great. It’s going great. Gordon is actually at the penthouse now with our kids. He’s been there for a whole week. He is a great father. And Gordon is a great guy. It’s just that there are some things that he’s battling, and sometimes it’s just not so exciting to be in the same environment with someone who’s going through certain things,” she reasoned.
Although she and Gordon shared a very raw moment with the cameras on the finale, Mia said she didn’t think twice about sharing what they were going through with the audience of RHOP.
“I forget the cameras. I’m very transparent so when the cameras are around I just wanna give people the honest, what’s going on right now and how we feel,” she said, noting, “But it doesn’t make it any easier.”
After then confirming that she and Gordon are “still legally married,” Mia revealed she met Incognito when she was 16 and in high school.
“It didn’t work out because of our careers,” she shared, confirming that he was “always” in the back of her mind.
Regarding their affair, Mia shared that it began “after” she and Gordon wed.
“I got married, and unfortunately, once you get married, sometimes people change,” she explained. “I did realize that after I married Gordon that I wasn’t quite sure if he was the man that I wanted to marry. He wanted to have threesomes. He wanted another lady in our marriage, and I just realized, I’m not sure if this is something I want forever. I just feel like I’m not sure if that’s the real definition of love. I think Gordon is very excited to have… I love him and I think we’re always gonna be good friends. We have these beautiful babies. We are co-parenting so well and I want that for them. So we are making it work, and Inc is very supportive on all elements when it comes to that.”
While Mia seemingly hinted at a potential wedding date months ago with a message about 444, she confirmed on WWHL that she and Incognito are not ready to wed.
“So there’s not a wedding date. Four four four is a symbolic angel number that Inc and I definitely share together and it’s not a wedding date,” she revealed.
When asked about her inheritance, which many have doubted existed, Mia said, “Fortunately, or unfortunately, I should say, is that I did lose a lot of grandparents in the same year after meeting, and after working at the strip club, and I was left money.”
She then clarified that the amount, which she did not state, was “not enough to let me stop working.”
Also on the live show, Mia was questioned about who was to blame for the fashion show scuffle.
“Deborah, hands down. She came with an agenda,” Mia stated.
Later, on the WWHL: After Show, Mia was asked where she and Jacqueline stand, and if their relationship has improved since Charrisse Jackson-Jordan‘s crab boil.
“Yes,” Mia confirmed. “Jacqueline and I are really back to being best friends, like sisters. We talk every day. I missed her. I’m glad we’re back where we were. She actually was gonna come today, but she had a little childcare discrepancies. But she wanted to be here.”
The Real Housewives of Potomac season eight reunion begins airing Sunday, March 31, at 8/7c on Bravo.
