This year, Teja Sajja’s latest action-adventure film, HanuMan, took the box office by storm. With its unique fusion of fantasy and mythology, the film introduced India to a new superhero. Although it has been two months since its release, the original and the dubbed versions of the film were yet to arrive in the digital space until recently. After a long wait, the OTT release dates of the film’s Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada versions have been announced.
HanuMan was released in theaters on January 12, 2024. At the box office, the movie competed with several other star-studded Telugu films, such as Guntur Kaaram, Siandhav, and Naa Saami Ranga. Despite the intense competition, HanuMan emerged as a winner as it broke several records.
HanuMan to arrive on Disney Plus Hotstar in 3 languages
Prasanth Varma’s directorial HanuMan had its extended dream run in the theaters. After two months, the film made its digital debut in Telugu and Hindi. The Hindi dubbed version arrived on JioCinema, while the original Telugu edition was made available to stream on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium. Finally, the Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada versions of the film will premiere on Disney Plus Hotstar on April 5. The director himself made the announcement on X (formerly Twitter).
Soon after its arrival on ZEE5, HanuMan shattered a major milestone. In less than 11 hours, the viewership soared to an impressive 102 million minutes, cementing its status as a record-breaker for 2024. Anticipation is high for its Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada dub versions, with similar expectations for their viewership records.
The film’s plot revolves around Hanumanthu, played by Teja Sajja. Its official synopsis reads, “In a small village, Hanumanthu, a petty thief, finds a mysterious gem, that gives him god-like powers. Will he succeed in keeping these powers from falling into the wrong hands and save his village?”
