Ariana Madix is reportedly taking over Sarah Hyland‘s hosting duties for the upcoming sixth season of Love Island USA.
After making a cameo appearance on the Peacock series, which began its run on CBS, the Vanderpump Rules star, 38, has allegedly nabbed a full-time role on the reality show as she and her business partner and co-star, Katie Maloney, 37, get one step closer to opening their highly anticipated sandwich shop, Something About Her, in West Hollywood.
According to a report from TMZ on March 27, sources with direct knowledge about Love Island USA‘s casting have confirmed that while Ariana’s new hosting gig has yet to be officially confirmed, a deal is expected to be signed soon.
As for Sarah, who has hosted for the past two seasons, seasons four and five, she is allegedly leaving the series to pursue another opportunity that is shooting at the same time.
After Arielle Vandenberg hosted the show for three seasons, Sarah was brought aboard as part of a rebrand that saw the series move from CBS to Peacock.
According to a second report, via The U.S. Sun, Ariana is also hard at work on Something About Her. She recently got a big win with the February 26 issuing of her and Katie’s liquor license for the property (it will remain valid until January 31, 2025).
As Pump Rules fans may recall, Ariana and Katie first submitted an application for the license with the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control in October 2023.
While an official menu has not been released, Ariana and Katie have shared plans for a wine bar, saying they will sell beer and wine, as well as wine-based cocktails, to go with their sandwiches and baked goods. They also gave fans a sneak peek during season 10, sharing items like a Soppressata salami sandwich, a spicy turkey sandwich, a vegan sandwich, and a Greek salad sandwich.
Although obtaining the liquor license is an exciting milestone for Ariana and Katie, they still have one more permit pending before they can open.
As The U.S. Sun confirmed, Ariana and Katie submitted an application with the City of West Hollywood for a new 20-square-foot outdoor dining space, requesting they be allowed to add a new awning and signage, but it is still listed as “under review.”
Months ago, Ariana and Katie built an outdoor space for Something About Her. But because it was not up to code, they were forced to knock it down.
“The front patio at that location was there for years (when it was Hedley’s Restaurant), and it was there without proper city permits. After the remodeling, Katie and Ariana learned that permit laws had changed and they had to take down their sign and break down the entire front patio,” a source explained.
