According to The InSneider, Oscar-winning actress Allison Janney (I, Tonya) is officially joining Amazon MGM Studios’ A Simple Favor 2 cast ahead of the crime thriller comedy sequel’s production starting this spring.
Besides Janney, six more new cast members have also recently joined the upcoming project, including Elena Sofia Ricci, Michele Morrone, Elizabeth Perkins, Alex Newell, Taylor Ortega, and Lorenzo de Moor. The sequel to Paul Feig’s 2018 movie will reunite the filmmaker with Janney, after previously working together in the 2015 action comedy Spy. Further details about the new characters are still under wraps.
What is A Simple Favor 2 about?
“In the film, we see the return of Stephanie Smothers and Emily Nelson as they head to the beautiful island of Capri, Italy, for Emily’s extravagant wedding to a rich Italian businessman. Along with the glamorous guests, expect murder and betrayal to RSVP for a wedding with more twists and turns than the road from the Marina Grande to the Capri town square.”
A Simple Favor 2 is directed by Paul Feig from a screenplay written by Jessica Sharzer, who both worked together in the first installment. The sequel will feature returning cast members Anna Kendrick, Blake Lively Henry Golding, Andrew Rannells, Bashir Salahuddin, Joshua Satine, Ian Ho, Kelly McCormack and Aparna Nancherla. It is produced by Feig and Laura Fischer, with Sharzer serving as an executive producer.
