Former Marvel star Jonathan Majors has reportedly escaped being sent to prison and has been handed a lighter sentence after being found guilty of assault and harassment of former girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.
Last week, Majors’ defense team made one last attempt to get the jury verdict overturned, but a New York Judge denied the motion. The actor now faces a new lawsuit from Jabbari, who is accusing him of battery, assault, and malicious prosecution.

Jonathan Majors Ordered To Attend Domestic Violence Treatment Program
After being found guilty of reckless assault and harassment in December last year, New York judge Michael Gaffey sentenced Majors to participate in a domestic violence treatment program.
According to Deadline, the “in-person batterers” intervention program will last for a year and is situated in LA, where Majors resides.
Prior to the sentencing, Majors faced a one-year jail sentence. Experts previously argued that the actor’s multiple interviews after he was found guilty would have provoked a judge to give him a harsher punishment. Fortunately for the actor, he was given a lighter sentence.
Besides the intervention program, Judge Gaffey imposed a permanent order of protection against any contact with Jabbari and continued therapy for the “Loki” star.

Jonathan Majors Will Be Sent To Jail If He Violates The Sentencing Requirements
According to the news outlet, the actor is not eligible to apply for or be the owner of a gun, with the judge stating that Majors could spend up to 364 days in prison for violating the sentencing requirements. He could also spend six months in jail if he doesn’t finish the intervention program.
On December 18, the actor was found guilty of two misdemeanor counts of reckless assault and harassment against Jabbari. This came after a three-week trial that included showing multiple videos and photographs by both parties to prove their case.
However, Majors’ legal woes are still far from over, as Jabbari has filed a new lawsuit against him. The professional dancer claims that the actor subjected her to a “pattern of pervasive domestic abuse that began in 2021 and extended through 2023.”

Grace Jabbari Accused Jonathan Majors Of Defaming Her
Jabbari’s defamation claim is largely a result of the interviews the “Creed III” star gave after he was found guilty of assault and harassment by a jury comprising three women and three men.
Her lawsuit stated: “Following his arrest, Majors immediately implemented an extensive media campaign smearing Grace, claiming that he was ‘completely innocent,’ ‘is probably the victim,’ that he ‘did not assault her whatsoever,’ and that ‘this woman was having an emotional crisis, for which she was taken to a hospital.'”
Majors discussed the guilty verdict for the first time during an interview on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” where he said that he was stunned by the jury’s decision.

He said at the time, “I shouldn’t have been in the car. I shouldn’t have stepped out of the relationship. I shouldn’t have been in the relationship. If I’m not in the car, none of this is happening.”
The actor added, “I was absolutely shocked and afraid. How is that possible? Based off the evidence, based off the prosecution’s evidence, let alone our evidence.”
Jonathan Majors Says He Is ‘Not Surprised’ By The Defamation Lawsuit
Following news of Jabbari’s lawsuit, the “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” star told TMZ that he was “not surprised” she filed a defamation suit against him.
“I knew it was coming from the beginning, really,” Majors said while leaving a workout facility in LA with fitness expert Jason Best.
When questioned further for more information, Majors told the news outlet that he “can’t say much else about it,” adding that the “law” restricts him from going into detail.

Jonathan Majors Gushes About Romance With Meagan Good
Amid his legal troubles, Majors found support in his girlfriend, actress Meagan Good, whom he began dating after the domestic violence accusations became public.
The pair made their red carpet debut as a couple at the 7th annual AAFCA Special Achievement Awards luncheon, where they happily took photos and answered questions regarding their relationship.
When questioned about how they were faring, Majors responded, “In love… We’re doing good, thanks for asking.” Good chimed in, “We’re doing great. God’s good.”
During a chat with People Magazine, Good talked about coping with the stress caused by her partner’s legal issues, noting that she manages by staying true to herself and being “authentic.”
“I know what I know that I know. And in time, everything else just catches up with what you know if you’re true to yourself and you’re authentic,” Good said.
She added, “There’s some things you just gotta be like, ‘I ain’t got time for that. Let me go see what my nephew’s doing. Let me see what my mama’s doing. Let me go see what my man’s doing. Let me go get this job.'”
