Styles P is nearing the end of his time as a solo artist, but the LOX member recently shared some heat in order to keep his name in the greatest-of-all-time conversation.
On Saturday (April 6), Ghost posted a video on Instagram of him freestyling over 21 Savage‘s London on da Track-produced “Redrum” beat, along with a caption that served as a lengthy argument for his status in the game.
“Before I retire as a solist ..!! I just want to make it clear who was 1 of the illest emcees to ever do this hard core shit !!! And that would be me !!!” he began.
He continued: “Imma go out on my shield type of guy . So please accept me as a 180- /180+ person and respect what comes out of the art I make !
“After this I promise to stick the script when it comes to health !!! But Im a retire and retire a few folks along with me. It’s no need for me to let yall believe these falsified geez when a real 1 still exist!”

Styles P begins the freestyle by explicitly arguing that he belongs in conversations about top five MCs.
“Who is in your top five?/ Consider them ingredients: I put ‘em all together, cook ‘em up like a pot pie,” he spits. “It could be a young boy, either in my peer group/ When Ghost ride, I just see n-ggas in my rearview.”
He also nods to his second career as an owner of juice bars with a series of puns.
“To tell the truth, I could sell most of these rappers/ You know why? I am real familiar with selling fruit/ Wanna get mix-y, I could put you in a blender/ Taking out everyone, that is my agenda,” he rhymes.
The 49-year-old closes the freestyle with a vicious rhyme about the coveted Greatest of All Time crown.
“I don’t give a fuck about a G.O.A.T.,” he says. “I’m a wolf, kill him in the booth, turn him to a coat.”
Among the people who showered Styles P with praise in the comments section were Swizz Beatz, Cam’ron, Lil Cease and even Congressman Jamaal Bowman, who represents parts of the Bronx as well as Styles’ native Yonkers.
While The LOX lyricist may be hungry for solo acclaim, his longtime group recently got a once-in-a-lifetime accolade.
Styles P Doesn’t Think Hip Hop Is As Competitive As It Used To Be
Late last year, the legendary Yonkers rap trio — comprised of Styles P, Jadakiss and Sheek Louch — performed at the Westchester County Center.
The concert was to commemorate the 25th anniversary of their debut album Money, Power & Respect, as well as Hip Hop’s 50th birthday.
In the spirit of the countless Hip Hop 50 celebrations that happened in 2023, The LOX were presented with a congressional proclamation by the aforementioned Congressman Jamaal Bowman during the show.
“It is an incredible honor as the Congressman for NY-16 to recognize the brilliant career of Yonkers’ own The LOX with a congressional proclamation,” wrote Bowman on Instagram alongside a video clip showing the rappers accepting their framed decrees.
“Hip Hop helped raise me and the artistry of the LOX was part of that upbringing. Shout out to Yonkers, Mount Vernon, New Rochelle, the rest of 914, and the Bronx for their contributions to Hip Hop and beyond!”
