One thing about J. Cole is that he’s going to support his artists—no matter what’s going on! But fans and Dreamville’s BAS were equally surprised when Cole popped out for his last U.S. tour stop. This appears to be his first stage performance since apologizing to Kendrick Lamar at Dreamville Fest on Sunday.

For context, BAS signed with Cole’s label Dreamville Records in 2014, per AfroTech. The ‘Tribe’ artist is getting ready to tour overseas after ending the U.S. leg in New York City last night (April 9). That’s the performance that the Dreamville owner popped out for.

At the show, BAS invited a fan on stage to perform J’s verse on their 2013 collab song ‘Lit.’ Cole gagged the audience and BAS when he randomly popped on stage to hype the fan mid-verse. The Dreamville founder kept his look simple with pulled-back locs, a black tee, and long jean shorts.

As mentioned, not even his artist knew that the record label owner was going to be in the building. J rapped the rest of his ‘Lit’ verse while the audience went wild. Then, he credited the fan for killing the verse!

TMZ reports that the ‘First Person Shooter’ rapper also stuck around to perform their ‘H.Y.B.’ song from his J’s new album ‘Might Delete Later.’

As the innanet already knows, Cole released the song ‘7 Minute Drill.’ It appeared to be a response to Kendrick’s shots at him and Drake on ‘Like That.’ The alleged diss record simultaneously praised and slammed Kendrick’s recent projects.

But two days after its release, J apologized to K. Dot during his set at Dreamville. He admitted that releasing ‘7 Minute Drill’ didn’t settle right in his spirit. He also opened himself up to more shots from Kendrick.

Kendrick has not publicly reacted to the apology, but social media has been in shambles ever since. Fans and critics have been debating what waving this white flag means for J. Cole’s title as one of hip hop’s greats. Meanwhile, the president of Kendrick’s former label TDE seemingly understood Cole’s position.
