Netflix has released a trailer for a new shark attack horror thriller titled Under Paris, about a shark that terrorizes France through the city’s rivers and sewers.
The story is set in Summer 2024 as Paris is hosting the World Triathlon Championships on the Seine for the first time. Sophia, a brilliant scientist, learns from Mika, a young environmental activist, that a large shark is swimming deep in the river.
It’s explained that to avoid a bloodbath at the heart of the city, they have no choice but to join forces with Adil, the Seine river police commander. Together, they will stop the shark from tormenting the city’s inhabitants.
This looks like one of those ridiculously cheesy B-movie shark attack movies as triathlon swimmers find themselves being eaten by a shark as the mayor of the city refuses to do anything to keep people from dying.
Under Paris was directed by Xavier Gens, and it stars Bérénice Bejo, Nassim Lyes, Léa Léviant, and Iñaki Lartigue.
Under Paris will be released on Netflix on June 5th, 2024.
