While appearing on Jeff Lewis‘ radio show last week, Crystal Kung-Minkoff revealed her Los Angeles mansion was broken into two weeks ago as she and her husband, Rob Minkoff, vacationed with their two kids in Japan.
After the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 41, confirmed via social media that she and her family, including son Max, 11, and daughter Zoe, 8, were out of town, Crystal’s home was met by intruders, who made their way inside. This was much to the horror of her friends, who were caring for her house while they were away.
“I posted and they tried to break in and my housesitters, my friends, had to deal with it face-to-face,” Crystal, 41, explained on the April 12 episode of SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live, noting that they are “okay.”
According to Crystal, her home is “fully” gated with cameras. But her housesitters “didn’t arm it properly.”
“I actually have a lot more security that they weren’t using because they were guests. You don’t think it’s gonna happen,” she shared. “They tried. They got into the house and were face-to-face with my friend, and they ran away. [She’s] very lucky. It was my girlfriend so she was very shaken up. She FaceTimed me.”
“They were just freaked out. I felt so bad,” Crystal admitted. “It really reminds me and reminded Rob, we need to step it up even more. Every time we hear a story, we step it up, and 1713205007 we’re going to go full on.”
When Jeff, 54, then asked if she’d be raising her walls to fences, Crystal confirmed, “all of it,” saying she and Rob were “going heavy duty” this week.
“We’re just going hard,” she added.
News of Crystal’s break-in comes just days after The Real Housewives of Potomac cast member Wendy Osefo, 39, was met with a home robbery as her family was enjoying spring break in Jamaica.
“My family and I are devastated and feel violated by this intrusion. We thank God no one was home … so for that we feel very blessed. Material things can always be replaced,” she said in a statement to TMZ after the ordeal.
Years prior, Crystal’s RHOBH castmates, Kyle Richards, 55, and Dorit Kemsley, 47, had their own homes targeted with robberies in 2017 and 2021, respectively.
