Gary Manna and Linda Manna, a couple who eloped 60 years ago in Reno, Nevada, have finally gotten the chance to experience a full-on wedding. The couple, who went on to have five children after eloping, had their children play a big part in their wedding ceremony, which also doubled as a family reunion.
The elderly couple said it had been many years since they had all of their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren all together at the same time. Surrounded by their loving family, the couple was able to make a longtime wish come possible through the Dreamweaver Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to creating joyful experiences for older adults.

Dreamweaver Foundation spokesperson Kelly Jacobs said, “Having a life-limiting illness is how we’re able to grant their wish and fulfill their bucket list dream. Sometimes it might be a birthday party. But sometimes it’s an anniversary celebration.”
Officiating the ceremony in Omaha, Nebraska was the couple’s eldest son, Mike Manna. Speaking with 6 News WOWT, the son said, “The main thing was to honor them. 60 years. There [are] not that many couples that have stayed together [for] 60 years. They were a great example to us, my brothers and sisters.”

Additionally, when asked what helped to keep their bond strong for 6 decades, the beautiful married couple said that music, forgiveness, and faith are some of the biggest things that have helped them reach 60 years together and finally experience a wedding.
They also noted that throughout the 6 decades, they have hardly spent any time away from each other and want to keep it that way as they continue the journey into their next chapter together. Linda Manna added that even in death, “We also know and believe that we’ll be with family.”
