Is There a The Institute Episode 9 Release Date & Time?

“I can tell you that it’s super exciting. I can tell you that it really does get deeper into the universe of Sonic,” Elba said. “I think 3’s probably the one for all the real diehard Sonic fans. They’re gonna get all of those Easter eggs in it. Jim [Carrey] is incredible, man. What a performance. It’s so great to work against, even though I’m never there with him, but I get to hear his voice. Bomb.”

Besides returning to Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Elba will also be reprising the fan-favorite Echidna warrior in the Paramount+ spin-off series Knuckles. The 6-episode series will debut on April 26 exclusively on Paramount+.

Keanu Reeves Joins Sonic the Hedgehog 3

Following Knuckles debut in the 2022 sequel, Ben Schwartz’s titular speedster will officially be getting a brand new formidable rival in the form of Shadow the Hedgehog, who will be voiced by John Wick star Keanu Reeves. Before Reeves’ casting was confirmed, fans were previously speculating that Star Wars vet Hayden Christensen might be voicing the fan-favorite character. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 will feature also include Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Tails, Elba as Knuckles, James Marsden as Tom, Tika Sumpter as Maddie, Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik, Alyla Brown as Maria, Krysten Ritter, Sofia Pernas, Cristo Fernández, James Wolk, and more.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is directed by Jeff Fowler from a screenplay written by Pat Casey and Josh Miller. It is produced by Neal H. Moritz, Hajime Satomi, Toby Ascher, Tim Miller, Nan Morales, and Toru Nakahara.

The upcoming sequel arrives on December 20, 2024.
