Valerie Bertinelli Goes Instagram Official With ‘Very Special’ New Relationship

The cat is finally out of the bag as Valerie Bertinelli unveils her mysterious boyfriend after teasing fans about their blossoming relationship.

The Food Network star who previously got scorched by her alleged toxic ex-husband has finally found the man of her dreams — Drum roll… her new beau is none other than the famous writer Mike Goodnough, aka The Hoarse Whisperer.

Bertinelli proudly showcased her new relationship for the first time on Instagram, sharing an adorable picture of herself posing next to Goodnough.

The post, set to the romantic tune of Taylor Swift’s hit “So High School,” captured the lovebirds with matching smiles and glasses.

The “One Day at a Time” actress rested her head on her beau’s shoulder, close enough that Goodnough’s head touched hers. She doubled down on her happiness in the post’s caption, partly referencing the lyrics of Swift’s song that read:

“I’ll drink what you think, and I’m high from smokin’ your jokes all d-mn night. [Red heart emoji] @therealhoarse.”

The post generated thousands of comments from supportive fans, and, of course, Goodnough couldn’t help but join them. The writer showcased his playful side, writing: “They look happy, those two,” while Bertinelli sweetly responded, “Very.”

As stated, the Hollywood veteran’s couple post generated positive responses from fans. Many expressed their joy for the adorable duo, with one IG user gleefully penning:

Before Bertinelli went Instagram official with Goodnough, The Blast reported she was keeping her beau’s identity a secret. She raved about her romance in an emotional interview last month, saying:

“I’ve met someone. And I’m incredibly grateful for him. It’s unlike any relationship that I’ve ever experienced with a man.”

“I don’t want to say too much, but I feel incredibly blessed and lucky to have met him because I wasn’t expecting it!” Bertinelli gushed, noting that Goodnough had not been on her radar.

However, the writer swooped her off her feet and impressed her so much that she changed her mind about dying with her pets. In Bertinelli’s words:

“I was going to die with my six cats and my dog and be incredibly happy doing it. So this came out of left field, and I’m grateful it did. He’s very special.”

Although she was head over heels for Goodnough, Bertinelli stressed that she wouldn’t have found love again if she hadn’t worked on herself first. She advised single people to do the same, saying:

“I really want women and men to take away that it’s the work that you do (on yourself) that can lead you to meeting someone like I’ve been lucky enough to meet right now.”

“This would not have happened three years ago, four years ago, last year ― it wouldn’t have,” Bertinelli continued, adding: “And I feel incredibly lucky to have met him and made a connection with him.”

Days before publicly acknowledging her new relationship, The Blast shared that Bertinelli had absolved her ex-husband, Tom Vitale, of ruining their marriage. She made the bombshell revelation during a recent appearance on “The Drew Barrymore Show.”

According to the TV personality, she could not blame her ex-husband “for a toxic, horrible marriage.” She stressed that Vitale was not at fault and blamed their issues on her childhood trauma, saying:

“It’s not his fault. What led me to that? Oh, childhood! That’s the stuff I got to start working on.”

Bertinelli noted that being thrust into the limelight as a child wasn’t easy, confessing that “the business can really mess with a child’s head. I’m going back to the childhood stuff and working on that.”

Her shocking confession comes months after she seemingly dubbed Vitale as a “narcissist.”
