The Midnight Studio episode 12 aired on Monday, April 23, 2024, on ENA. Starring Joo Won as Seo Ki-Joo and Kwon Nara as Han Bom, the K-drama currently revolves around the lead characters discovering the truth about a past accident.

In the previous episode, Han Bom learned that her former boss, Lee Hyeon-Oh, was connected to her parents’ deaths. Her memory of the day of the accident came back. She told Ki-Joo that his uncle saved her, but the culprit’s car returned and hit his uncle as well.

In The Midnight Studio episode 12, Han Bom and Ki-Joo try to explore the old case and also find a way to lift Ki-Joo’s curse. While investigating, Ki-Joo arrives at a house where he finds paper-cutting related to his uncle’s missing case. The episode’s ending teases him taking his last breath.

The Midnight Studio episode 12 spoilers: Joo Won & Kwon Nara investigate their families’ accident case

The Midnight Studio episode 12 begins with Han Bom (Kwon Nara) remembering the day of the traumatic accident. She recalled that Ki-Joo’s (Joo Won) uncle saved her, but the culprit’s car killed him. Moreover, they got rid of his body, and, hence, nobody knew what happened to his uncle for 20 years.

Han Bom remembered that the late Kim Yoon-Cheol’s friends, who are now dead, were the culprits. However, they couldn’t figure out how Lee Hyeon-Oh was connected to them. Han Bom filed a request for her parents’ information from the accident, but Hyeon-Oh denied it. Meanwhile, Ki-Joo sought Assistant Go and Baek Nam-Gu’s help to investigate the case.

Aside from the investigation, episode 12 also showed Assistant Go enjoying a date with Han Bom’s friend, who learned about ghosts and the studio. Nam-Gu, on the other hand, decided to cross the border of living and dead. Amid all the chaos, Han Bom recalled the moments from her first encounter with Ki-Joo when she turned into a living soul after the accident. The couple shared a few heart-fluttering moments, confessing their love for each other.

The Midnight Studio episode 12 ending: Kwon Nara meets Joo Won’s ghost

Towards the end of The Midnight Studio episode 12, Ki-Joo asked Han Bom to meet him on a Ferris wheel ride in the evening. While she got ready, Ki-Joo and Assistant Go went door-to-door at a complex after they received a tip related to their investigation.

Ki-Joo ended up at an empty house, where he found paper cuttings of his uncle’s missing case. Meanwhile, Han Bom arrived at the amusement park and remembered more details from the accident. She recalled that there were three people in the car that caused the accident. As she saw this person’s face, Ki-Joo noticed a few photo albums in the empty apartment. It appears the third culprit was the son of Lee Hyeon-Oh.

While looking at the photo, Ki-Joo heard police officer Lee Seon-Ho’s voice. When he turned around, he saw a dangerous evil ghost shadowing the officer. Ki-Joo looked shocked and confused. The episode’s ending featured Ki-Joo visiting Han Bom near the Ferris wheel, where the latter realized he had become a ghost.

He said, “I’m sorry. I promised not to make you cry again.” Meanwhile, an ambulance rushed to the hospital carrying Ki-Joo, covered in blood. The final scene showed the cardiac monitor displaying a straight line as Assistant Go cried beside Ki-Joo.

The Midnight Studio airs new episodes on Monday and Tuesday on ENA and Viki.
