Porter Robinson has revealed the release date of his long-awaited third album, SMILE! :D.
Set to drop this summer on July 26th, 2024, the album will feature his recent hyperpop debut, “Cheerleader,” as well as a brand-new single released moments ago, “KNOCK YOURSELF OUT XD.” You can check out the official music video for that track, out now via Mom+Pop, below.
Robinson took to social media to open up about his new album’s recording process, hinting that it will be a drastic departure from its predecessor, 2021’s Nurture. The Worlds producer admits that while he tried to create an absurd album filled with bangers, he ended up spilling his innermost feelings and ultimately created what he believes is his most confessional work to date.
“the album that I was TRYING to write was this nonstop party — NO sincerity, ALL fun, an album that revels in absurdity for a world that rejects context,” Robinson wrote. “And that was the plan until I accidentally started confessing how I was really feeling, and … you’ll hear the rest.
“my most fun, and maybe my most heartbreaking album,” he added.

Those looking to enjoy the new album the old-fashioned way will have plenty of options considering Robinson announced multiple physical album bundles, which are set to launch with the release of SMILE! :D.
Fans can preorder a CD, a pink 2LP pressing and a deluxe box set, the lattermost of which will feature the vinyl, an exclusive art print, a lyric and photo book, and an exclusive 7″ “Cheerleader” vinyl all contained in a custom case.
