Lisa Vanderpump doesn’t agree with Katie Maloney‘s suggestion that she sympathizes more with the male cast members of Vanderpump Rules than the females.
While explaining why she seemed to be closer to Tom Sandoval, 41, throughout season 11 and clapping back at Jax Taylor‘s accusations of the show being “scripted,” the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, 63, looked ahead to the series’ potential 12th season and denied she’s more sensitive to men.
“I don’t agree,” Lisa stated on the April 5 episode of Housewives Nightcap, via Breaking the Rules Podcast on Instagram. “Maybe I’m closer to [Tom Schwartz] than Katie, maybe she feels like that. I don’t know if [Ariana Madix] would feel like that because I think I’m equally close to both of them. Maybe it looks like that because of James Kennedy, because I’ve been very supportive to him over the years. I don’t mean it like that. I don’t agree, but maybe it feels like that.”
She also agreed that Sandoval needed her more due to the state he was in post-“Scandoval.”
“He did. He was very, very mentally fragile and I don’t take that lightly,” Lisa explained. “He went through a lot. I can’t minimize that but he caused the debacle. That said, I think he’s probably learned not to shag his girlfriend’s best friend.”
As Pump Rules fans may recall, Jax, 44, went on a rant against the show during an outing at his bar, Jax’s Studio City, earlier this month before walking it back on his podcast days later.
“They don’t even hang out with each other,” he alleged. “Show me a scripted show and I’ll show you f*cking Vanderpump Rules. Scripted! Scripted! I’ve been on this show for nine f*cking years, this is scripted.”
“This is disastrous,” he continued. “Don’t get me wrong, when we started, it was awesome. About seasons one through six, it was organic, it was real. Now everybody starts to have money, now it becomes fake. Everything after six seasons is a wash, it’s a f*cking wash.”
He then said his Pump Rules spinoff, The Valley, is a “real show.”

Jax Taylor slams Vanderpump Rules saying it’s all “scripted” then tells us about Tom Schwartz and his new girlfriend (and yes, that IS Stephen McGee from Summer House sitting next to him) #vanderpumprules #thevalley #jaxtaylor #tomschwartz #lalakent #arianamadix #katiemaloney #andycohen #lisavanderpump #tomsandoval #jameskennedy #vanderpumprulesseason11 #jax #kristendoute #brittanycartwright #summerhouse #bravo #bravotv #realitytv

“I think it’s absolutely ridiculous to say ‘scripted,’” Lisa told Entertainment Tonight in response on April 24. “Nobody can write a script like Vanderpump Rules.”
“Maybe what Jax says is scripted. Maybe he sits at home, in his little bedroom and writes his own scripts,” she continued. “Well, what do I know? Anyway, for the most part, anything Jax says doesn’t make any sense to me.”
While the Pump Rules cast seems to be divided post-reunion, Lisa noted that the group “always [comes] back from it.”
“This group has been so divided so many times, and you would think that this one would never talk to that one again and, somehow, they manage to find their way back to each other,” she stated.
As for season 12, Lisa reacted to the idea of a potential cast shakeup.
“I just think people are so attached to this cast, and there’s always a story to tell,” she shared. “So we’ll see. We’ll know when the time is right [to shake things up].”
Lisa was open to the idea of recentering the show around her restaurants, as they were at the start, but she didn’t seem to be on board with following the happenings of Something About Her.
“I hope it opens very soon, ’cause they’re still paying rent!” she proclaimed.
Moving on to Vanderpump Villa, Lisa said her new Hulu show is “very popular” and added that she “survived” the recent reunion taping.
“It’s obviously not me, the ones that’s in trouble, because I’m kind of at the helm there, but it’s still a lot to manage with these young people,” she reasoned, admitting, “There’s always somebody I don’t want to see again” in regard to season two.
Also in regard to season two, which has not yet been confirmed, Lisa said, “I think if we did it again, and of course there’s talk, but I can’t say anything. I think the exciting thing, we should go somewhere different. So watch this space.”
As if she doesn’t have enough on her plate, Lisa has also participated in the second season of Gordon Ramsay‘s Food Stars and continued to work on her new restaurants, Pinky’s in Las Vegas and Wolf in Lake Tahoe.
“The next one, we’ve already designed and it’s in motion,” she revealed. “We’re gonna open around September … It’s gonna be a beautiful, art deco vibe. Pinky’s, it’s totally different [from Wolf].”
Vanderpump Rules season 11 airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
