Heather Gay was just spotted on a plane with her Real Housewives of Salt Lake City castmates. And while fans were excited to see the women together, it was Heather’s weight that really captured their attention.
After a fan on X, formerly known as Twitter, posted an image of Heather, 49, posing for a photo with her cousin and co-star, Whitney Rose, 37, on the way home from their cast trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, people couldn’t help but notice how thin she’s gotten.
“My friend is on a flight with the [RHOSLC] cast and I am dyinggggggg of fomo. How cute are [Heather Gay] and [Whitney Rose]!!” Bianka Kadian captioned her April 24 post on X.
Following the sharing of the image, a number of social media users said they didn’t recognize Heather at first glance.
“Am I the only one who can’t tell which is which anymore?” one person asked of Heather and Whitney.
“THAT’S HEATHER?!?! At first glance, I thought it was [Jennifer Pedranti] from [The Real Housewives of Orange County]!” wrote another.
“Heather looks sooooo skinny,” shared a third as someone else asked, “That’s Heather???? How? OMG!”
Another person compared Heather to Summer House‘s Lindsay Hubbard, 37.
At the end of last year, Heather revealed she was “on the Ozempic train” during an interview with PEOPLE.
“I’ve been on it for a long time, but hadn’t really seen much results. And I haven’t had massive results, but enough for people to notice, which is great,” she said in December, claiming that people were being “nicer” to her.
“I don’t know why. It’s just the way the world works and that makes me sad for women. But happy that I’m down five,” she stated.
“I think that we put so much pressure on ourselves and it’s hard … And I have three daughters that I love and I don’t want them to have my genetics or have to struggle with society’s standards of beauty. I just wish that there was a solution for all of us. But I’m feeling like I’m coming into my own a little bit and I think the glow-up might be a little bit from that, too. But I’ll give credit to all the medical intervention,” she continued.
Three months later, on ABC News, Heather admitted to seeking out the drug after seeing that so many of her friends had lost weight while using it.
“I didn’t want to show up at another party and see all of my friends 20 pounds thinner and just be resentful,” she shared. “I’ve sold out, I’ve given up the banner of you know, accept yourself. And it’s disappointing and sad to know that body positivity was all a big lie. It is better not to be overweight.”
At the time of her interview on ABC News, Heather had dropped over 30 pounds.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season five is expected to premiere on Bravo sometime later this year.
