Kendrick Lamar and Drake‘s ongoing feud has gone to a dark place as both rappers are now taking shots at each other’s families. With two new diss tracks out by each rapper, released an hour apart, the beef has entered a new phase.

In the early hours of Friday (May 3), K.Dot amped up the rivalry by dropping “6:16 in LA.” A follow up to “euphoria” from earlier in the week, the cut alleges that people in Drizzy’s own team are praying on his downfall and even leaking information to his adversaries.

That same evening, the Canadian superstar responded with a seven-plus minute joint that came packaged with a music video that shows a 1996 Chrysler Town & Country (the same make and model of car displayed on the cover art of good kid, m.A.A.d city‘s deluxe edition) being taken to the junkyard and crushed.

In addition to reprising the “Drop, Drop, Drop” from the “Push Ups” outro, the 6 God takes the war of words to a new place by accusing his rival of domestic violence, insincere racial activism, distancing himself from his native state of California and nudging 2Pac‘s estate to have his “Taylor Made Freestyle” removed from social-media platforms, among countless other jabs.

“When you put your hands on your girl, is it self-defense ’cause she bigger than you?” he raps, poking fun at the Compton native’s height as he has before.

About the Los Angeles native’s image as a force of social commentary, he adds: “Always rappin’ like you ’bout to get the slaves freed/ You just actin’ like an activist, it’s make-believe.”

In addition to suggesting The Weeknd‘s fan base is mostly queer folk, reminding the Hip Hop community of Rick Ross‘ past as a enforcement officer and firing shots at Kanye West, Future and Metro Boomin, the “Hotline Bling” hitmaker also sets a few bars aside for A$AP Rocky (real name Rakim Athelaston Mayers).

“Rakim talkin’ shit again/ Gassed ’cause you hit my BM first, nigga, do the math, who I was hittin’ then?/ I ain’t even know you rapped still ’cause they only talkin’ ’bout your ‘fit again/ Probably gotta have a kid again ‘fore you think of droppin’ any shit again,” Drake spits, seemingly energizing rumors about he and Rihanna being romantically linked in the past while dragging her current partner for his thinning involvement in the music space over recent years.

Less than an hour after the above track surfaced, Kendrick Lamar posted his rebuttal. “meet the grahams” clocks in at roughly six-and-a-half minutes and addresses each member of Drake’s immediate family — Adonis (s0n), Sandy (mother) and Dennis (father) — in addition to the Toronto MC himself, who is referred to by his real name, Aubrey Graham.

“But you fucked up the moment you called out my family’s name/ Why you had to stoop so low to discredit some decent people?” Kung-Fu Kenny raps in the verse devoted to his peer after making some bold claims of his own. Over the deeply personal attack, he implies that Drizzy uses Ozempic (the cover art even shows a prescription for the medication made out to him), is hiding a daughter and hires sex offenders, in addition to a number of other shots.

“You got gamblin’ problems, drinkin’ problems, pill-poppin’ and spendin’ problems,” K.Dot spits, before suggesting that his enemy has several children he has abandoned: “You lied about your son, you lied about your daughter, huh/ You lied about them other kids that’s out there hopin’ that you come.”

In keeping with the theme of the 6 God being an unfit to be around kids, he adds: “He got sex offenders on ho-VO that he keep on a monthly allowance/ A child should never be compromised and he keepin’ his child around them/ And we gotta raise our daughters knowin’ there’s predators like him lurkin.’”

Both tracks are ripe with one allegation after another, a number of which have yet to be verified — though the seriousness of the claims has certainly set a new tone for the beef.

Ever since the Compton native’s feature verse on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That” took the Hip Hop circuit by storm, a number of high-profile artists have joined in, with Rick Ross, The Weeknd and A$AP Rocky and Kanye West joining K.Dot’s side and J. Cole withdrawing from the beef altogether after releasing a diss track of his own.
