On Tuesday (May 7), news broke about a shooting that reportedly occurred outside of Drake‘s Toronto home. Details about the incident are still developing, but Toronto police recently clarified what information they do know.
Details On The Shooting
An inspector of Toronto police’s Integrated Gun and Gang Task Force gave a press briefing early Tuesday. At this time, Drake is confirmed not to have been the victim, but police gave no information about whether he was home at the time of the incident.
An adult man, employed as a security guard, was shot sometime around 2 a.m. Police refused to clarify whether it was a drive-by or stop-and-shoot situation. However, the suspect allegedly fled the scene in a vehicle.
After receiving the call, police found the guard unconscious and suffering from “an apparent gunshot wound.” He was standing outside of the residence when the shooting occurred, per police. Emergency personnel transported the man to the hospital in “serious condition.” CBC reports that the security guard reportedly underwent surgery at the hospital.
Police say they have video of the incident. However, due to video quality, they’re not releasing a description of the car or suspect at this time. Additionally, due to the early nature of the investigation, they have no motive for the shooting. The speaking inspector warned that the neighborhood can expect an increased police presence for the next few hours.
Drake has yet to publicly comment, but his team is cooperating with the investigation.

As we await more developments, keep scrolling for an inside look at the rapper’s well-known mansion and its neighborhood.
Drake’s Toronto Home Address Isn’t A Secret
Reactions to the reported shooting are pouring in across social media platforms. One of the loudest critiques of the media coverage included questions about revealing the rapper’s Toronto address. But to be clear, that secret has been out for a hot minute.
In August 2021, Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) doxxed the rapper’s Toronto address during their public feud, per HipHopDX.
But even then, the addy wasn’t hidden information among locals. Drizzy brought heavy attention to the Park Lane Circle address when he purchased the land for his mansion in 2015. According to CNN, he paid $6.7 million for the property and demolished the bungalow sitting on it.
His goal when he built the 50,000-square-foot home was to have it stand for 100 years, per what he told Architectural Digest in 2020.
“Because I was building it in my hometown, I wanted the structure to stand firm for 100 years. I wanted it to have a monumental scale and feel. It will be one of the things I leave behind, so it had to be timeless and strong,” he said.
Nicknamed “The Embassy,” it was built using materials like limestone, bronze, and exotic woods.
Meanwhile, his neighborhood is “affluent” but “pretty open,” per CTV News Channel reporter.
“Everybody knew where Drake lived. There is a lot of space between the houses. The homes are mansions,” the reporter shared.
Locals know the neighborhood as Bridle Path. While covering the shooting, a second reporter from CP24 confirmed that Drizzy’s living area is “well known.”
“In terms of the actual location where Drake lives as well, it is well-known. A lot of people know he lives on this street,” she said.

What’s It Like Inside The Mansion?
As mentioned, the OVO rapper gave AD a sit-down and exclusive tour of his high-ceiling mansion in 2020. Architectural and interior designer Ferris Rafauli is behind the property’s final look, mixing old-world craftsmanship with modern Art Deco and “overwhelming high luxury” interiors, per AD.
His bed and its frame alone weigh nearly one ton and sit in a 3,200-square-foot master bedroom suite. In his bathroom, there’s a 4,000-pound tub made of black marble. Meanwhile, his closet is two stories tall.
Drake’s home also has an NBA-size court, a world-class recording studio, an awards room, a hallway with sports jerseys displayed, and a black granite indoor swimming pool.
Drizzy & Kendrick’s Beef Recapped
Meanwhile, the shooting at Drake’s went down just days after Kendrick Lamar used an aerial view photo of the mansion as the cover art for his diss track, ‘Not Like Us.’ Still, police have not confirmed whether the shooting has any connection to their public feud.
The rappers have been stepping on each other’s necks from the booth for a little over a month now. In his latest response to Lamar, ‘The Heart Part 6,’ Drake seemed to wave the white flag. His five-minute track was a response to Lamar’s back-to-back releases, ‘Not Like Us’ and ‘Meet The Grahams,’ this past weekend. Lamar released the tracks in response to Drizzy’s ‘Family Matters.’
In ‘The Heart Part 6,’ Drake slammed Kendrick’s pedophile accusations and clowned his relationship with his fiancée, among some other insults.
