Yikes! Brian McKnight‘s son Niko McKnight is dragging Tyrese after the R&B singer defended a fellow icon for allegedly disowning his kids. Niko tells Tyrese, “Sit this one out. You have relationships to fix with your own children.”

For years, R&B legend Brian McKnight, 54, has made headlines, being accused of abandoning and disowning his four older, biological children: Brian McKnight Jr., 34, and Niko McKnight, 31, whom he shares with ex-wife Julie McKnight; his daughter, Briana McKnight, 22, whom he welcomed with his ex Patricia Driver and once referred to as “illegitimate” on social media; and a third son Clyde McKnight, 32, whom he welcomed with an unknown woman.

In addition to referring to his biological daughter Brianna as “illegitimate” on social media, Brian McKnight has also openly celebrated his two stepchildren and biological son with his current wife Leilani Malia Mendoza McKnight. The stepchildren’s names are Jack and Julia, the latter of which he’s referred to as his only daughter, and his bio son with Leilani is also named Brian McKnight Jr.

It’s reported that Brian McKnight once admitted to cutting off Brian Jr. and Niko at the ages of 25 and 22, respectively. He said, “When I stopped doing everything for them, BJ was 25, Niko was 22. But it wasn’t like I completely cut them off.” However, the singer recently made headlines again after accusing his ex-wife Julie McKnight of blocking his help for his estranged son Niko McKnight, who is suffering from Stage 4 Cancer.

Brian McKnight was answering a weekly Q&A on Instagram and shared an update about his relationship with Niko McKnight. He explained as he and his current wife Leilani Mendoza McKnight tried to contact medical specialists and secure a spot at a local treatment facility, his ex-wife allegedly intervened, so he stepped back despite how difficult it was to do so.

Brian’s ex-wife Julie McKnight ended up firing back and told Page Six, “This is, once again, a response to bait myself & my family into his false narrative. He is a liar.” A week before this, both Julie and Niko dragged the singer on social media after he called his four eldest children “a product of sin” and “pure evil.”

Since his controversial comments, comedian-host-actor Rickey Smiley took to his Instagram to give his two cents on Brian McKnight allegedly disowning his children. He claimed he was “absolutely stunned and horrified” by the singer’s comments and condemned him for turning his back on his kids. He also shared a message to them, claiming, “To the ones that he said was ‘born out of sin,’ you have a lot of support out here. We here at the ‘Rickey Smiley Morning Show’ support you.”

Responding to Rickey Smiley, Tyrese hopped on his Instagram and took up for Brian McKnight. Despite stating how he has the “utmost love and respect” for Rickey Smiley, Tyrese countered Smiley’s claims, calling them “unfair,” as he explained his relationship with Brian McKnight, Julie McKnight, and their children.

After sharing a 15-minute video sharing his opinion, Tyrese was dragged by Brian McKnight’s son Niko McKnight for defending the singer disowning his children. Niko at first thanked Rickey Smiley and said, “After growing up in North Carolina, waking up to this was such a crazy full circle moment. Thank you, Rickey Smiley, for your invitation and we would love to come hang out with you guys. Thank you for shining such a beautiful light on such a dark situation.”

Niko McKnight continued to then drag Tyrese for defending Brian McKnight allegedly disowning his children. Niko said, “Tyrese used to sleep under our pool table when I was a kid. I know the ’90s R&B brotherhood blood is thicker than anything, but you should sit this one out, champ.”

Niko continued, “You have relationships to fix with your own children and your own past decisions you’ve made on behalf of p***y and power. The allegiance to those two things is what keeps you guys from seeing that the only thing that matters in the end is family. Real men can see past the bullsh*t. Let me stop, though. This 46-hour chemo infusion has me ready to fade Jody. That’s not right. Peace and Prosperity.”
