One of Salman Khan’s most awaited movies is Sikandar, his most recent collaboration with director AR Murugadoss. Since the film was announced last month, rumors about its cast have been rife. While the makers were tight-lipped about the film’s leading lady, they have finally confirmed it is none other than Rashmika Mandanna.
For the uninitiated, Sikandar is the first film in which the director has collaborated with the Bollywood star. Murugadoss is known for including heavy action sequences in his movies, such as Ghajini, Holiday, and more. The upcoming Salman Khan starrer is also expected to have the same energy.
On the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr 2024, Salman Khan announced SIkandar in his own unique way. He wrote, “Iss Eid ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ aur ‘Maidaan’ ko dekho aur agli Eid Sikandar se aa kar milo…. Wish u all Eid Mubarak!” Sajid Nadiadwala is producing the project under the NGE Movies banner.
Rashmika Mandanna will play the lead in Sikandar?
Finally, the producers and Rashmika Mandanna confirmed her casting in Sikandar. The makers shared a new post confirming her involvement in the project. They wrote, “Welcoming the fabulous @iamRashmika to star opposite @BeingSalmanKhan in #Sikandar! Can’t wait for their on-screen magic to unfold on EID 2025!”
The Pushpa actress reshared the post and added, “You guys have been asking me for the next update for a long time, and here it is.” She continued to express how elated she was to join the movie, writing, “Surprise. I am truly grateful and honored to be a part of Sikandar.”
As a result, fans are as excited about Rashmika’s new project. An X (formerly Twitter) user wrote, “It’s great to watch you with Dabang Salman bhai,” while another penned, “This is brilliant Rashmika!!!” Salman Khan’s Sikandar is slated to release on Eid 2025.
