RHONY star Sai De Silva thinks Rebecca Minkoff is “too nice” for the New York Housewives franchise.
The fashion blogger was caught talking about her new co-star on a hot mic during an interview with Jeff Lewis for his SiriusXM radio show, Jeff Lewis Live. “She’s nice. She’s really, really nice, but [she’s] kind of boring, to be honest,” Sai De Silva told a mystery woman who was sitting next to her. “She’s too nice for the show.”“She’s going to just get taken down,” the woman noted, to which the RHONY star responded, “[The cast is] trying to take her down, but she’s unresponsive.”
A short time later, a producer for Jeff Lewis Live let the Bravo star know that she was being recorded. Sai immediately stopped talking and seemed to regret what she had said.
As previously reported, Rebecca Minkoff will be the new face of the New York Housewives franchise when it returns for season 15 later this year.
Multiple outlets have reported that the fashion designer has been filming for season 15 of The Real Housewives of New York.
A source close to production tells PEOPLE that the 42-year-old “will appear in a Friend capacity on the rebooted reality series.”
Yet, a source tells Deadline that there is a chance Rebecca Minkoff could be holding an apple by the time season 15 debuts later this year.
The fashion designer, who co-owns the Rebecca Minkoff brand with her brother, Uri Minkoff, is no stranger to Bravo as she’s appeared as a guest judge on Project Runway. She’s also appeared on E!’s So Cosmo and Lifetime’s Project Runway: Fashion Startup.
It seems that the news of Rebecca’s involvement with the Real Housewives of New York is already causing some anxiety and worry in the Bravoverse as she is a longtime Scientologist with many prominent friends in the controversial church, per Page Six.
In late March, Bravo announced that the entire season 14 cast of RHONY, including stars Jessel Taank, Jenna Lyons, Sai De Silva, Ubah Hassan, Erin Lichy, and Brynn Whitfield, would return for the new season.
Production for season 15 of RHONY commenced in April.
RHONY will return to Bravo for season 15 in late 2024.
