Days after heartbreaking video was released showing Diddy, 54, assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie, 37, in a Los Angeles hotel in 2016, he is now breaking his silence to reveal how “sorry” he is. Taking to his official account on Instagram, Diddy shared a video with the caption, “I’m truly sorry.” In his video, a little over a minute in length, he says, “It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life. But, sometimes, you gotta do that.”

He continues, “I was f***ed up. I mean, I hit rock bottom. But, I make no excuses. My behavior in that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. Disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it and I’m disgusted now. I went and I sought out professional help. I had to go into therapy and go into rehab. I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry. But, I’m committed to being a better man every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness. I’m truly sorry.”
As we previously shared, on Friday (May 17), surveillance video, released by CNN, emerged showing Diddy, born Sean Combs, violently attacking his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura. The disturbing and heartbreaking footage, compiled from multiple camera angles, shows an incident that aligns with the allegations made by Cassie in a $30 million civil lawsuit filed in November 2023, alleging abuse, rape, and sex trafficking against Diddy.

The incident captured on surveillance footage, took place on March 5, 2016 at the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles, California. The no-audio clip begins by showing Cassie exiting a hotel room and walking towards elevators. Shortly after, Diddy, wearing only a towel around his waist, chases his then-girlfriend down the hallway.
He then forcefully grabs her by the back of the neck, throwing her to the floor, as he proceeds to kick her several times, with one hand holding the towel around his waist. Diddy then grabs Cassie’s purse and suitcase from the floor, which were thrown when she was first attacked. After kicking her again, Diddy soon drags her by the sweatshirt towards a room before walking out of frame.
Cassie begins to slowly stand up and collect her belongings and then reaches for a phone hanging on the hallway wall near the elevators. However, Diddy returns to the area, and in the reflection of a mirror, he is seen sitting on a chair. He then picks up a glass vase from a table and forcefully throws it at Cassie. Finally, he walks away but then turns back towards Cassie when an elevator door opens and someone exits.

According to Cassie’s 2023 lawsuit, Diddy was allegedly “heavily intoxicated,” when she was attacked. Cassie claimed she attempted to leave the hotel while he was sleeping, but he woke up and followed her into the hallway, where the assault happened.
The complaint also alleged that Diddy paid the InterContinental Century City $50,000 for the hallway security footage capturing the incident. Cassie’s wide-ranging lawsuit against her ex-boyfriend also included various allegations, including claims of rape in 2018 and enduring years of repeated physical and other forms of abuse.
