A lot of people have been slamming Diddy for not issuing an apology to Cassie during his latest Instagram post, but according to a new report by @tmz_tv, it was because the mogul is not allowed to say Cassie’s name publicly.
As we all know, Diddy and Cassie came to a settlement shortly after she filed a sexual assault lawsuit against him in November. Sources familiar with the agreement revealed to the news outlet that it includes a strict non-disclosure agreement (NDA), prohibiting them from publicly discussing each other. The news publication also stated that Diddy’s legal team reviewed his video apology before it was shared on social media because they needed to ensure it aligned with the terms of the NDA, which meant not mentioning Cassie by name – despite Diddy’s desire to do so.

Cassie’s lawsuit settlement is just one part of the legal challenges Diddy is currently confronting. In addition to resolving her case, he is also battling three other lawsuits that involve similar allegations, such as accusations of human and sex trafficking. According to sources that spoke to TMZ, Diddy’s legal team is cautious about him making any public statements while there are ongoing legal proceedings. They are concerned that his words could potentially be used against him in court during the pending litigation.
As we previously reported, on Friday, CNN released a disturbing surveillance video showing Cassie Ventura, now 37, leaving a hotel room and heading towards an elevator as Diddy now 54, runs down on her in the hallway wearing only a towel. Combs then violently grabs her by the neck, causing her to fall to the ground. In a shocking display of aggression, Combs proceeds to kick Cassie while she lies still before snatching her purse and suitcase.

In the footage, Cassie remains on the ground as Combs kicks her once more and pulls her by her hoodie, dragging her briefly down the hallway before releasing her and taking her belongings. Shortly after, Combs comes back to grab Ventura near the elevator and then sits in a nearby chair, picking up an object from a table and throwing it at her. As he walks away, Combs turns back towards Ventura when the elevator door opens and someone exits.
Diddy’s apology still has the internet talking because many people feel like he wasn’t genuinely sorry for his behavior. Taking to his official account on Instagram, Diddy shared a video with the caption, “I’m truly sorry.” In his video, a little over a minute in length, he says, “It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life. But, sometimes, you gotta do that.”
He continues, “I was f***ed up. I mean, I hit rock bottom. But, I make no excuses. My behavior in that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. Disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it and I’m disgusted now. I went and I sought out professional help. I had to go into therapy and go into rehab. I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry. But, I’m committed to being a better man every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness. I’m truly sorry.”
