Neon has released the Babes red band trailer for its newest R-rated comedy, which hails from Emmy winner Pamela Adlon in her feature directorial debut.

The Babes red band trailer features Ilana Glazer and Michelle Buteau as lifelong best friends who will face the challenges of adulthood and parenthood together. Following its world premiere at the 2024 SXSW Film Festival, the movie will now be arriving in theaters on May 17. It currently has a Certified Fresh rating of 91% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 57 reviews.

“The film follows inseparable childhood best friends Eden and Dawn, having grown up together in NYC, now firmly in different phases of adulthood,” reads the synopsis. “When carefree and single Eden decides to have a baby on her own after a one-night stand, their friendship faces its greatest challenge. BABES delves into the complexities of female friendship with a blend of laughter, tears, and labor pains..”

Who’s involved in Babes?

Babes is directed by Adlon from a screenplay written by Ilana Glazer and Josh Rabinowitz. Joining Glazer (Broad City, Rough Night) and Michelle Buteau (Always Be My Maybe, Survival of the Thickest) are Hasan Minhaj (Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj), Stephan James (Homecoming), Oliver Platt (The Bear), John Carroll Lynch (Fargo, American Horror Story), and more. It is produced by Glazer, Rabinowitz, Susie Fox, Ashley Fox, and Breean Pojunas, with Range Media Partners and FilmNation serving as financiers.
