Which of the companion Guns N’ Roses albums – Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II – is the better album? That’s the debate at the center of this week’s Chuck’s Fight Club on the Loudwire Nights radio show.
They were both dominant albums, placing No. 1 and No. 2 on the charts upon their release and keeping the band going with singles and touring for nearly three years. Both albums were stacked and incredibly ambitious, but which one ultimately was the better album?
On one hand, Use Your Illusion I had arguably the biggest song of this album cycle with the epic “November Rain.” But Use Your Illusion II had the big lead single “You Could Be Mine” that was tied to the Terminator 2 summer blockbuster.
As with all Chuck’s Fight Club battles, Loudwire Nights host Chuck Armstrong will introduce the sparring match at 8PM on Monday’s Loudwire Nights show. On Tuesday at 8PM, he’ll give you the argument for Use Your Illusion I, while Wednesday’s 8PM hour kicks off revisiting Use Your Illusion II’s finer moments.
