Daisy Ridley once again has shared her support to see John Boyega reprise his role as Finn in Lucasfilm’s upcoming Star Wars movie.

During a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the actress was asked if Finn could return for the upcoming film, which is set 15 years after The Rise of Skywalker.

She responded saying, “Absolutely, of course. It feels like we should, yeah.”

As the film sees Rey rebuild the Jedi order, it would make sense to see Finn join her on her journey after what they went through together. There’s a lot of unfinished business with the character, especially with the fact that he is Force-sensitive.

I will say, the character’s story should’ve played out so much more different than it did. The creative teams on these films took Finn’s story in the wrong direction.

There have been rumors that Boyega could return for this new movie, and Ridley was asked at one point if Finn could finally become a Jedi in the film if he returns, and she responded: “That is above my pay grade. I would love to see that, but that is not a decision for me.”

A few years ago when asked if he would return to the franchise Boyega said: “Lol, no thank you. I’ve moved on. Not into playing one role for too long. I have more to offer than that.”

The actor then changed his tune later on saying: “That was a few years ago, so they were the subject of that particular project. But I’m open to all characters and scripts that are enjoyable, have a great cast attached and a terrific director. So yeah, I’m open to all opportunities.”

The Rey Skywalker movie is being directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy from a script written by Steven Knight. The movie will be set fifteen years after the events of The Rise of Skywalker. All we know about the story so far is that Rey will be a “powerful Jedi master” running her own training academy.

Ridley previously said the new story is “not what I expected,” and “something very special,” and she has recently mentioned that the whole idea for the picture is “cool as shit.”

Would you like to see Boyega return to reprise his role as Finn?
