Last night at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Avril Lavigne kicked off her celebratory, long-awaited Greatest Hits tour on a high note. As promised, the career-spanning setlist included songs from each of her seven studio albums, and Lavigne even brought out openers All Time Low for “Fake As Hell” after crashing their set at last year’s When We Were Young. She also played “My Happy Ending,” “He Wasn’t,” and “Don’t Tell Me” from her darker, grungier second album, Under My Skin, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this Saturday.
The run continues this summer and fall with more than two dozen stops across North America, including dates with Simple Plan in the second half. Those shows will mark a special full-circle moment, as they toured together on her first-ever run supporting Let Go when she was only 18.
